This morning, we celebrated a milestone as another 135 yards of our low-carbon ReAct cement was mixed into the concrete for the 3rd and final phase of the Business, Technology, and Engineering Building slab at Simpson University!??? ?? ?? A huge thank you to everyone who joined us—a fantastic turnout of elected officials, community leaders, university administrators, and local media—to see this project completed. We are grateful for the opportunity to play a role in creating a new space for STEM students and veterans transitioning to student and civilian life. As Fortera CEO Ryan Gilliam said, “We're committed to making a positive impact in our own community and proud to contribute to the foundation—both figuratively and literally—of education, veteran success, and sustainable infrastructure." #VeteranSupport #STEMEducation #SimpsonU #Fortera #CommunitySupport #SustainableConstruction #GreenCement

"It is going to take industry-wide collaboration to solve our greatest climate challenges." We’re excited to share that Fortera CEO Ryan Gilliam took the TED Countdown stage to share how cement—an industrial decarbonization challenge—can become a solution instead of a problem. With deep expertise in clean technology and manufacturing innovation, Ryan is guiding Fortera to pioneer scalable solutions to decarbonize cement, the primary source of CO2 emissions in concrete, an industry responsible for 8% of global emissions. ???? Don't miss this conversation on sustainability, CO2 utilization, and the future of cement. ?? https://lnkd.in/gJMZPB5b #TEDTalks #TEDCountdown #Fortera #Sustainability #Innovation #GreenCement #Collaboration #ScalableSolutions

Progress at Phase 2 Simpson University: Maurice & Marianne Johannessen Veteran Success Center and STEM Building is underway! We successfully poured 135 yards of concrete for Slab 1, incorporating a 10% ReAct? Blend—a step forward in reducing embodied carbon in construction. A total of 15 concrete trucks delivered the mix, and the feedback from finishers:?“It finishes like it has fly ash in it.” Stay tuned for the the 3rd and final phase coming soon! ??? #Fortera #GreenCement #VeteranSuccess #Community #STEM #SimpsonU #SustainableConstruction

The public sector generates billions of dollars of domestic demand for concrete materials to build and maintain our nation’s infrastructure. Therefore, public procurement plays a key role in accelerating clean material innovation. Advance market commitments (AMCs) present a powerful solution to accelerate investment in low-carbon cement technologies. By aggregating demand and signaling market confidence, AMCs can drive innovation, reduce emissions, and reshape how we build sustainably.? Thanks to the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) for including Fortera in its recent issue brief on AMCs. ?? Coauthored by experts from NRDC and RMI, the brief explores how AMCs can help decarbonize the concrete value chain. #SustainableConstruction #LowCarbonCement #PublicProcurement #Decarbonization #CleanTechnology

One of the challenges breakthrough technologies face is finding economic viability in an established marketplace. At Fortera, we’ve learned through trial and error how to make the technoeconomics of low-carbon cement work. We’ve been able to move out of the lab to commercial scale because we work within the existing cement ecosystem without a green premium. Katie Fehrenbacher at Axios shares the potentials and perils of pivots in climate tech. ?? #StartupTech #GreenCement #Scalability #Pivot #Technoeconomics

On National Leadership Day, we’d be remiss not to take a moment to recognize our incomparable leader, Ryan Gilliam, whose legacy at Fortera is defined by action. Ryan has been part of the Fortera story from the beginning, shepherding our technology from the lab to commercialization. He doesn’t just set a vision—he ensures the team has the tools, support, and confidence to execute it. Ryan is the first to celebrate the wins of those around him, the first to dig into a challenge alongside his team, and the first to credit others for shared success. His leadership style isn’t about being in the spotlight—it’s about creating opportunities for others to shine.? Here’s to leadership that lifts people up and pushes industries forward. ???? #NationalLeadershipDay
