FSHISD educates the children of active military personnel. The district is coterminous with the Army installation Fort Sam Houston, meaning it has the same boundaries as the installation. We are diligent in our efforts to maintain a strong partnership with the Installation for the sake of our military-connected children. The District is comprised of three campuses – Fort Sam Houston Elementary, grades PK-5, Robert G. Cole Middle School, grades 6-8, and Robert G. Cole High School, grades 9-12. The student enrollment is approximately 1300. FSHISD has a history and tradition of educational excellence. The District is proud of its achievements, having earned high ratings in the Texas Public School Accountability System and met all state compliance requirements. Additionally, the schools have met the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) federal requirement established by the 2001 No Child Left Behind (NCLB). For AYP, campuses and their student subgroups were required to meet targets of achievement, assessment, attendance, and graduation rates. FSHISD is committed to providing and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement. We set high expectations in order to prepare our students for success in their pursuit of higher education or in the workforce. ?? The largest mobile art exhibit, featuring student art, in Texas! ? This past Saturday we hosted the 5th Annual Go Public Bus Reveal Event where we showcased student artists from San Antonio area’s ISDs. Students in elementary and high schools submitted their artwork in a contest and winners won placement on the outside of VIA city buses. High school students also won a tote featuring their artwork. Totes are available for purchase through June 15th using this link >> https://lnkd.in/ghaYSJxz Witnessing these students' talent celebrated alongside proud families and dedicated art teachers was truly heartwarming. Keep an eye out for these colorful buses around San Antonio! The incredible student talent wouldn’t be possible without the support and guidance of the art teachers. We thank you all!
