Thank you to the City of Fort Lauderdale Mayor, Dean J. Trentalis, and the Neighbor Support/City Manager's Office for including Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Center in this year’s Proclamation Ceremony in recognition of National Homelessness Awareness Month. In addition, we are keeping our center immersed in assisting individuals experiencing homelessness who also struggle with mental health or substance use needs. Being a community partner is one of the biggest goals of our organization, and striving for this initiative means that we are working towards solving issues that impact our daily lives. Homelessness Awareness Month is to bring attention to the issue of homelessness and to encourage people to act. Also, it is important to remember the work that still needs to be done to end homelessness while also acknowledging the progress that has been made. Let's all make a difference.

We celebrated Thanksgiving a week early here at FLBHC! Both day and night shifts were offered a Thanksgiving meal in the main lobby of our hospital where our Leadership team and members of the Employee Engagement Committee served the food. This is just one small way of saying thank you and showing gratitude to our FLBHC family!

At Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health, giving back is at the heart of what we do, especially during the holiday season! ???? This year, we collected non-perishable items to support ChildNet, Inc. of Broward County. Together, we can spread joy and support those in need, reminding ourselves of the true spirit of the holidays. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this beautiful mission! ???? #GivingBack #Gratitude

Everyone got to network and discuss the different opportunities to collaborate, all while having some fun. Thank you to everyone who attended!

Our Director of Business Development, Allison Bruchwalski (pictured in the first photo on the right), recently became part of the Mission United Veterans Advisory Council of Broward County. She joined James Heaton (pictured in the first photo in the middle) and Rhonda Gates (pictured in the first photo on the left) of Mission United at a Florida Panthers Military Appreciation Game representing MISSION UNITED. It was an impactful way to educate on resources for Veterans while celebrating those who serve and have served our country.

Today, we want to highlight two of the Veterans who work at our facility: Director of Human Resources, Carlos Gato; and Director of Infection Prevention/Control, Staff Education, and Employee Health, Calvin Brooks. Thank you both for your service and for everything you do here at FLBHC. Happy Veterans Day!
