Forsyth County government offices will be closed Thursday - Friday, Nov. 28 - 29, in observance of Thanksgiving. This includes County offices, the Pet Resource Center, the three recreation centers and the three recycling convenience centers. Have a happy and safe holiday!

Did you know – over the course of 2024, over 640 poll workers helped process 184,554 ballots during three elections? That’s a lot of hard work! Additionally, on Election Day, 29 polling places were open for voting in the General Election and Special Elections, and Forsyth County saw a voter turnout of 82.97%, which was the fourth highest voter turnout rate in the state of Georgia. To express their thanks, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recognized the departments of Voter Registrations & Elections and Employment Services for their partnership. The Forsyth County Department of Parks & Recreation was recently awarded the Georgia Recreation of Parks Association (GRPA) 2024 District 7 and State of Georgia Agency of the Year awards. “From designing innovative programs to maintaining our parks and creating spaces that bring people together, our staff consistently goes above and beyond to serve this community,” Director of Parks & Recreation Kirk Franz said. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 66,440 people in the United States will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2024. To help the public understand its effects on the county, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners proclaimed the month of November 2024 as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
