I'd love your support. On January 25th, we'll be hosting our Sisters in Solidarity Fundraiser Event at Port Labs in Oakland, CA. This event aims to rally the Bay Area in support of our sister communities in Southern California that have been impacted by the devastating wildfires. January 25th was originally meant to be the day we celebrated our 3rd anniversary... but I couldn't think of a better way to highlight the true spirit and mission of EM/POWEREDbyWMN and what we've built together in just a few short years. On January 25th, we're gathering with our community, many small business owners, many women, many individuals who have families and connections to Southern California, and joining forces to offer our collective support to start rebuilding the L.A. community and spirit and restoring hope where we can. Our core values at EM/POWEREDbyWMN are women empowerment, community over competition, and giving back and this event is a true embodiment of that. We'll have auctions, raffles, a donation drive, headshots, tarot readings, permanent jewelry, food/drink, and music. We're going to have fun, we're going to make beautiful connections, but most importantly, we're going to do what we were always meant to... make an impact. I'm thrilled to announce that I've been accepted as a member of The Female Founder Collective's first-ever Fashion, Accessories, and Jewelry Cohort within The 10th House! ?? Co-founded by the incredible duo: Rebecca Minkoff and Alison Koplar Wyatt, this community is already reigniting the spark in my entrepreneurial journey. My First Sale this week on Wolf & Badger was such an exciting milestone! I sold an up-cycled denim and plaid pleated mini skirt from the collaboration between Formula S7 and GOOD Group ATX. I'm about to ship it off to London, so I wanted to share a bit more about it's story! ? Last year, I dreamed of teaming up with a company that truly makes a positive change in the fashion world, especially one that champions sustainability. When I connected with GOOD Group ATX (Kara Wright and Marcella Bechtel), known for their fantastic free clothing swaps around Austin, I knew I had found the perfect partner. Our conversation was nothing short of inspiring, and we quickly ignited the idea for an up-cycled collection. Everyone was immediately buzzing with excitement! Our collection, MONSOON, debuted at the Slow Fashion Festival in 2023. It is a vibrant celebration of our shared mission to revolutionize fashion consumption. Every piece was crafted from materials sourced from GOOD Group ATX clothing swaps. We specifically chose items that had a "low swap rate," giving them a fresh design and a second chance. The name MONSOON not only reflects Austin’s evolving climate but also underscores the fashion industry's role in accelerating climate change. Central District Brewing, a frequent host of GOOD Group ATX clothing swaps, also had a unique challenge for us. They needed an up-cycling solution for waste grain sacks used to transport brewer’s grain, which currently lack effective recycling options. We rose to the occasion, transforming these sacks into both practical and avant-garde pieces. ? But we’re just getting started!
