After seven years of planning and dedication, the historic Parthia tugboat is one step closer to its permanent home near The Olympia Farmers Market! We recently broke ground, marking a milestone achieved through countless hours of collaboration, design work, and community support. Built in 1906, the Parthia served the Puget Sound for over a century. It has since become a labor of love for our maritime community. The new display will celebrate the Parthia's legacy and include: ?? A concrete foundation and future canopy with solar lighting ?? Beautiful landscaping and seating for visitors ?? Plans for a maritime walkway connecting to the historic Sandman tugboat Construction of the foundation and boat placement begins spring 2025. ??
