Our 2nd Annual Give A Fork Restaurant Week launches tomorrow thanks to a community full of love warriors. We are so grateful DiscoverNEPA, Powered by Mericle is leading the way for us this year! Are you walking around with a bucket of meaty personal and professional experience you’d like to put to excellent use? Cool, because we need you. We need your intelligence, acumen, confidence, compassion, spirit, energy, and drive to help us next level our small but mighty organization. Fork Over Love is a socially innovative 501(c)(3) founded in 2021. We’re committed to nourishing communities holistically and sustainably—by bridging the gap between independent restaurants and residents struggling to put food on the table for any reason. Truth. One thing not lost on us is that every week it takes a small army of committed partners and volunteers to get dinner on the table for those struggling to do so on their own. If we counted the number of people involved, starting with suppliers supplying our restaurant partners our numbers, each week would easily exceed 100. Can you even imagine how many people it took to get that cup of coffee into your hands this morning? You need to start thinking pre-bean! There is not one thing in our world that's engineered to thrive alone. We are stronger and better and healthier—in every possible way—together. And we need to do better to be better. That's hardly a new call to action, but sadly not one that comes with a playbook or map. Our model of investing in our people and places of business to holistically nourish the community at large is socially innovative and responsible. Fork Over Love was founded on the premise that we can find new ways to care for one another by opening our hearts first. You have shown us that the premise is true. This day, Giving Tuesday, celebrates and uplifts grassroots generosity in every way, shape, and form. You can open a door for a stranger, send a note of gratitude to a friend or mentor, volunteer your time or expertise to a cause near and dear to you, or donate much-needed funds to help organizations like ours help our neighbors get back on their feet and thrive. We’re partnering with AllOne Charities Give Day today to jump-start our Whole Heart Campaign this month. If you donate today we may be able to secure matches through our partnership with AllOne. There are many challenges (for us) throughout the day, but the one that’s guaranteed is that they will MATCH the first $1,000 we raise. So if we raise $1000 to feed 100 people, we'll be able to feed 200 instead! Every $10 donation fills two hearts with joy—we will purchase a hot, delicious dinner in your name from our AMAZING small, local restaurant partners and offer that dinner with your whole heart sticker attached to a neighbor for free.
