Communicate relevant and timely information to create opportunities for company and employee success: promote safety; improve skills; elevate technical and operational expertise; identify workforce issues and define proactive solutions, establish leadership development programs. Maintain a thriving regional structure: address regional policy and operational issues; identify regional research priorities; build and grow a strong grassroots advocacy network.

Our outstanding Domtar team took home an American Forest & Paper Association Sustainability Award on Friday for our program we implemented to reduce water consumption at our mills. Collectively, seven of our mills saved enough water in 2023 to fill more than 1,600 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Did you know that wood products continue to store carbon for their useful life and beyond? The solid and engineered wood products we made in 2023 alone will keep an average of 10 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent out of the atmosphere over the next 100 years. That’s the equivalent to the carbon emission from 1.3 million homes’ energy use each year. Through the cycle of harvesting and replanting, wood products from sustainably managed forests are part of an ever-increasing equation that pulls carbon out of the atmosphere over time.
