In order to speed things up and get more urban trees in the ground, we've created a limited edition tote bag with local artist Patricia Rodriguez that directly funds tree planting and Blackland Prairie restoration right here in Dallas. Why does this matter? * Our city is heating up. * Each native tree we plant helps cool our neighborhoods and restore our natural heritage. * This Earth Day 2025 tote is a custom art piece that plants trees where we live and work. NorthPark Center has already joined us as our launch partner for Earth Day 2025. I'd love for you—my connections, friends, and fellow green city enthusiasts—to be part of this too. Message me to for partnership opportunities for your business and we can work to make Dallas cooler, together. #CoolestBaginDallas #HeatIslands #UrbanTrees

When we speak of greening our cities, this is what we envision. Let's make it happen, together.
World first - Europe's largest vertical forest with 8km of trees ?? (The results are shocking) By 2050, 70% of humans will live in cities facing critical threats: ? Urban temperatures up to 12°C hotter than surroundings ? 7 million deaths yearly from air pollution ? 90% of urban residents breathing unsafe air In Düsseldorf these problems were particularly obvious. An elevated highway had divided the city since the 1960s. That's when ingenhoven in Dusseldorf proposed something radical. Instead of fighting nature... ... they covered a local building with 30,000 hornbeam trees. Here's how the living building works: a) Trees are planted directly into walls and roof in special substrates b) Smart irrigation systems provide precise water and nutrients year-round c) Plants convert solar energy into cooling water vapor, lowering temps d) Living facade filters pollution and creates natural air conditioning The impact is massive: ? Significant increase in biodiversity ? Local area temperatures and pollutions significantly reduced ? Model is being replicated in London and Singapore From a concrete motorway that divided the city... ...to Europe's largest green facade and a blueprint for cities worldwide Sometimes the best solutions come from a group brave enough to question 'What If Would you like this in your city? ?? Forest Bridge is on a mission to cool our cities with urban trees and native pocket prairies. Why? * 70% of humanity will live in cities. * Temperatures in cities are hitting record highs. * Urban planting can be a cost-effective adaptation solution. #UrbanResilience #ClimateAdaptation #HeatIsland
5 reasons why we undervalue urban forests ?? (Temperature control is just the start) By 2050, 70% of humanity will live in cities. At the same time temperatures in cities are hitting record highs. Urban planting can be a cost-effective adaptation solution. This is a Miyawaki forest - inspired by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. Here are 5 reasons why these mini-forests are revolutionary: ??? 1. Temperature Control: ? Cool surrounding areas by up to 25°C ? Cut air conditioning costs by 30% in nearby buildings ?? 2. Biodiversity: ? They grow 10x denser and 10x faster than traditional plantings ? Pack 30+ native species into spaces as small as a tennis court ?? 3. Pollution: ? Absorb pollution 30x more effectively than single-layer plantings ? Sequester carbon at rates 40x higher per square meter ??? 4. Economic: ? Save cities $170M annually in stormwater management ? Extend pavement life by 40% through shade protection ?? 5. Health: ? Reduce stress levels by 15% in tree-lined streets ? Cut asthma rates by 29% in well-forested neighborhoods Would you like to see these in your city? ?? Follow for daily updates on NatureTech and Finance

How do you make your brand's advertising carbon neutral? "Digital advertising’s carbon impact is increasingly a hot topic within and beyond the industry. And it makes sense: while our environmental footprint may be less noticeable than other sectors of the economy, recent estimates show digital advertising accounts for roughly 3.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions — a number that is growing at 6% annually. As awareness of the industry’s environmental impact increases, brands and marketers are searching for ways to reduce their carbon footprint." Dallas is a little greener, thanks to our fantastic group of volunteers this past week. We planted 25 native and native-adapted trees (ranging 5-10 years old) in University Crossing with the City of Dallas. Then, we hooked sensors to a newly planted addition for a tree music jam session! The high notes ?? from the tree?? can be heard in this video!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of getting together with my fellow Environmental Champions from across The MISSION Group to discuss our ongoing approach to our ESG commitments and how we progress on our environmental journey. We enjoyed an inspirational talk from Laurence Kemball-Cook at Pavegen about how he brought his incredible clean-tech concept to reality and the challenges along the way. A nice reminder to fight for what you believe in! We also heard from Sustainable Advertising author Matt Bourn who showed us how our work can support a better future and promote long-term behavioural change. I’m now even more excited to plan Speed Communications’ environmental initiatives for 2025 and ensure we’re doing everything we can to hit our ambitious science-based targets! ?? #ESG #EnvironmentalChampion #Sustainability #SustainablePR Kelly Pepworth Tara Greenman-Sparrow

Planting more trees is, for me, one of those no-brainers if I were in city management. Trees not only improve air quality, reduce pollution, reduce flooding damages, and cool down the temperature, they also create a more beautiful atmosphere. A for me very unexpected but positive surprise has been the recent development of Paris. I usually come there several times per year for different events and it has undergone an amazing transformation in recent years thanks to its Climate Plan. It was originally published in 2007, but in 2018 Mayor Anne Hidalgo has given it the update that really pushed things forward. She wants to plant 170.000 trees by 2026 and what that results in can be beautifully seen in the picture below. It is the Rue du Docteur Paquelin in the 20th arrondissement for those that want to check it in person, it is not photoshopped. The Climate Plan includes turning schoolyards into green spaces, creating urban forests, and restoring overall biodiversity — making Paris greener, healthier, and more resilient for future generations. I want to give a massive shoutout here for a great sign of the positive impact politicians can have and would hope more mayors and cities follow suit. I personally think Paris has never been as attractive as it is now. Picture credits go to the Parisian photographer EmmanuelSPV and he shared more examples of the transformation online, so check him out.
