Dear FEN members, a wonderful new year to all of you! Might this be an inspiring and hopeful one. As 2025 begins, the tables are turning in the FEN?leadership?team. Epaminondas Christophilopoulos, PhD joins the growing circle of Past Presidents, Nick Balcom Raleigh becomes the new Past President and Lena Tünkers step into the role of Present President. With that, we are very excited to announce the new Future President, Thays Prado. Thays is a dear colleague based in Lisbon, Portugal, with an inspiring background in documentary film-making, a huge gift for storytelling and facilitation, and remarkable projects in the field of foresight and futures thinking with her company Feminist Futures (among many others as an NGFP Fellow). #WorldFuturesDay 2025 - March 1st The Millennium Project and five other international futurist organizations will host the 12th annual World Futures Day — a unique 24-hour online conversation around the world exploring possibilities for our shared future. World Futures Day begins at 12 noon in New Zealand. This round-the-world event will move westward hour-by-hour, ending 24 hours later in Hawaii. Everyone is invited to drop in anytime to listen, share ideas, and discuss how to create a better tomorrow with futurists, thought leaders, and engaged citizens worldwide. As always, WFD will launch at 12 noon in New Zealand, moving across each time zone until it concludes after 24 hours. Facilitators play a crucial role in guiding discussions, fostering engagement, and maintaining the flow of conversation across different time zones. Several translations of the State of the Future 20.0 report are underway, new translations of its executive summary are now available for free on our website, book launch events are scheduled in February, and new videos on the 15 Global Challenges have been published. Upcoming events include the Futures Conference 2025 in Turku, Finland, featuring Jerome Glenn, and the DSSR Conference in Pescara, Italy, in February with Elizabeth Florescu. After the leadership?change at the beginning of the year, the?Foresight Europe Network?announces that the successful?FEN Demo Hour?format will continue in 2025, but in a slightly more nuanced way. There will?be four sessions?this year – a winter, spring, summer and autumn Demo Hour. The FEN Demo Hour is a?one-hour online space?where FEN members and the European #foresight community share and learn from each other’s approaches to foresight and futures work. In each Demo Hour, one or more FEN members present a unique method or tool and have the opportunity to receive valuable feedback and discussion from an experienced crowd of foresight practitioners. New #Leadership Announcement at Foresight Europe Network (FEN): Lena Tünkers becomes the new President We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lena Tünkers as the new President of FEN. This leadership transition marks a significant step forward for FEN, regional Network of The Millennium Project dedicated to advancing foresight practices and fostering collaboration across Europe. Following the change, Epaminondas Christophilopoulos, PhD, Chair of the Greece Node of The Millennium Project, joins the growing circle of Past Presidents. The previous President, Nick Balcom Raleigh, becomes the new Past President and Lena Tünkers steps into the role of Present President, appointing the new Future President Thays Prado. In 2025, I enter the 3rd third of being on the leadership trio for Foresight Europe Network, moving into the VP/Past President role. Lena Tünkers is FEN President for 2025-2026. Thays Prado joins our team as VP/Future President. FEN has never felt more alive!
