Our event partners, ICRC, have shared this excellent workshop that focuses on the forensic human identification process in mortuaries and is hosted by the University of Witwatersrand (WITS). It offers both a virtual and practical component and is designed for judicial officials, military officers, law enforcement personnel, health and forensic sciences practitioners, and disaster management managers. A variety of local and international experts will present on the forensic techniques used for evidence collection, standard operating procedures, and best practices related to the identification of the deceased. The workshop will also include a practical component on collecting primary and secondary identifiers from unidentified decedents at a medico-legal mortuary. WITS has been running this workshop for several years, and it comes highly recommended. The course combines academic knowledge with practical, hands-on experience, leveraging insights from high caseloads of unidentified human remains. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge in this critical area. Register here https://lnkd.in/dby4-H3M For more details, please see the attachment or contact Ms. Allison Gilbert, [email protected] Important Note: Funds generated from participant registrations go directly to WITS. The ICRC does not charge for training, and their involvement is solely through a modest donation and providing presenters to support capacity-building initiatives in Africa. #ForensicScience #HumanIdentification #WITS #CapacityBuilding #ICRC #TrainingOpportunity
