#Medicaid is the largest payer of #opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment in the United States, covering an estimated 40% of adults under the age of 65 with OUD, and plays additional roles in supporting recovery services and prevention initiatives. With a wide range of new Medicaid policies now under discussion at the national level, proposed changes have the potential to significantly impact access to OUD treatment and related services which have contributed to a nearly 25% decline in fatal overdoses in the past year. Please join FORE on?Wednesday, March 26th?at 2pm EST?as we welcome Jocelyn Guyer (Manatt Health), Bradley Stein (RAND), Gabrielle de la Gueronniere (Legal Action Center), and Katie Greene (NASHP | National Academy for State Health Policy) for a discussion on the most recent data on the vital role of Medicaid in preventing overdose deaths,?proposed changes to Medicaid programs, and their potential impact on the U.S. #overdose and #opioidcrisis.

A national grantmaking foundation inspiring and accelerating action to end the nation's opioid and drug overdose crisis.
关于我们
The Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts (FORE) was founded in 2018 as an independent, private, national, grantmaking foundation focused solely on addressing the nation’s opioid epidemic. Our vision is to inspire and accelerate action to end this crisis. Now more than ever, it is critical to think creatively, test new approaches, and enhance and expand activities proven to prevent and treat opioid use disorder. FORE’s mission is to convene and support partners advancing patient-centered, innovative, evidence-based solutions in four key areas: Provider education, payer strategies, policy initiatives, and public awareness. FORE Grantmaking --------------------------------------- We are committed to funding a diversity of projects that contribute solutions to the epidemic at national, state, and community levels. We will consider grant requests through Request for Proposals posted on our website, as well as commission work for specific programs, from U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations. FORE Partnerships and Programs --------------------------------------- FORE will explore a range of activities, including research, community outreach, trainings, convenings, and information dissemination. We welcome the opportunity to explore partnerships and collaborations with all who are dedicated to furthering our goal of accelerating solutions to end the opioid epidemic. FORE Leadership --------------------------------------- Our leadership and staff have the expertise and passion for applying innovation and evidence-based science to significant public health challenges. By partnering and supporting exceptional efforts in the U.S., we strive to make a meaningful impact on the epidemic. For more information, please visit ForeFdn.org.

With support from the Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts, this week NASHP's opioids and substance use team (Madeline Hraber, Rebekah Falkner, and Katie Greene -- pictured L to R) helped the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners host a convening in Raleigh, North Carolina, of state opioid settlement administrators. It was a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas, celebrate successes, and share lessons learned while navigating challenges in distributing national opioid settlements in each state.?Thank you for having us!

"This is not a blip. We are on track to return to levels of [fatal] #overdose before #fentanyl emerged [...] After all this time looking at overdose deaths, this is what we've been hoping for [...] It's a clear #publichealth improvement no matter how you measure it." - #FOREgrantee Nabarun Dasgupta, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
