This week is the perfect time to welcome U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Mustang fan Kareem El to Ford.
Two months into his new role as an electric vehicle strategy manager, Kareem El is still feeling the excitement. “The decision to take this role was an easy one – I can’t imagine a better opportunity.” His job, simply stated, is figuring out the best way to sell more EVs, and Kareem says it’s fun but also gratifying. “I get to make a lasting impact on a worthy cause because our success directly supports environmental sustainability.”
Another plus for the Model e strategy team member is seeing the direct results of his work every day on the road. “Every Mustang Mach-E or F-150 Lightning that rolls down the street is a testament to our team’s success and a reminder of the huge opportunity that is still up for grabs,” Kareem says.
Kareem started his career as a logistics officer in the Marines, where they delivered things a little differently: by parachute. After leading an Air Delivery Platoon, he started his civilian career in federal consulting. From there, he entered the tech world where he launched a social connection app startup and worked in tech go-to-market for a last-mile delivery app (which did not involve parachutes!).
Outside of work, Kareem’s hobbies are as diverse as his work experience. You can find him skateboarding, riding a Harley, practicing Muay Thai fighting, playing chess, performing as the front man for an alternative rock band and soon…driving around in his new 2025 Mustang Mach-E. “I thought it was super cool that Ford invests so heavily in helping its employees get behind the wheel of our vehicles,” says Kareem. “I've wanted a Mustang since I was in high school and Ford is helping me celebrate the holidays a little early!”
