Thrilled to share my first solo story as the Politics and Administration Associate Producer with WOLV-TV at the University of Michigan! ????? Tuesdays have easily become my favorite day of the week. Getting to spend time in the studio with this amazing group is something I cherish so deeply. From the laughs and chaos to the shared passion for storytelling, it's all so special and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It's been an incredible privilege to dive into political and administrative coverage and to bring impactful stories to our audience. I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow as a journalist and work with such a talented and passionate team. I present a policy analysis using economic principles to show how tariffs can be used strategically to strengthen American power abroad and help consumers and workers at home. I am honored to have been selected as one of the six Special Representatives of the Assembly, serving as an Ex-Officio Non-Traditional Student Representative in the University of Michigan Central Student Government (CSG)! As a non-traditional student, I understand the unique challenges that come with balancing education, work, military service, and personal responsibilities. In this role, I am committed to advocating for greater inclusion, resources, and representation for non-traditional students at U-M. I look forward to working alongside student leaders, faculty, and administration to ensure all students—regardless of their background or journey—have the support and opportunities they need to succeed.

Two years ago, the Michigan State University community was forever changed by an unspeakable tragedy. Today, we pause to honor the lives lost, the survivors who continue to heal, and all those impacted by the ripples of grief and trauma. Anniversaries like this are a painful reminder of how deeply gun violence affects our communities. They also call us to reflect on the policies that could help prevent such heartbreak in the future. Meaningful reform is complex—it requires balancing public safety with constitutional rights, and understanding the social and cultural contexts in which these tragedies occur. In a recent article for the Ford Leadership Forum, I explored the potential of evidence-based policies, including red flag laws, to reduce gun violence while respecting individual freedoms. My hope is to contribute to a thoughtful, compassionate conversation about how we can create safer communities. Today, we remember.
