“When we connect with others, we open the door to endless possibilities.” College For Military Veterans and Emergency Services are our Specialist Lead on Education, and through sharing ideas and connections with other FWC members Armed Forces Community HQ and Greater Manchester Combined Authority, have formed a new project partnership and secured additional funding from Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to address the needs of Service Pupils in Further Education across Greater Manchester and Lancashire. Employment opportunities for service leavers in Lancashire ??

Yesterday, we welcomed over 120 cross-sector professionals to learn about Thrive Together - the 'flagship' programme of the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. The day started with brief insights from the Office for Veterans' Affairs, including the drive for a renewed national veteran strategy that is outcome focused, and affirming the commitments to supporting the Thrive Together programme. Armed Forces Community HQ, Portfolio Lead, gave an overview of the North West consultation findings and the strategic delivery plan which encompasses two key elements - Community Capacity Building and a range of Thematic Projects. We were also immensely grateful that our counterpart for the South East, Veterans Outreach Support, made the 500-mile roundtrip to share their own regional insights and evidence the national commitment to this programme. Workshops on Collaboration and Communication were led by GOOD WORK WITH, as part of our commitment to co-production and continuous evolution of the strategic delivery plan.
