Strong collaboration and strategic partnership between Winthrop Public Schools and FKO has allowed for FKO programs to serve more Winthrop children and families this year than ever before, while also ensuring alignment between a child’s school day and their afterschool experience! ???Reflecting with Purpose This week, the National Institute of Out-of-School Time (NIOST) spent a morning with FKO staff looking at program-specific data, reflecting on strengths of staff and discussing strategies for improvement. This week, we celebrated #NationalApprenticeshipWeek, recognizing the career pathways apprenticeships create across the country! ?? At FKO, we’re proud to be building a pathway for Out-of-School Time (OST) professionals, shaping the future of the after-school field. We had a wonderful site visit yesterday with The Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) Undersecretary Josh Cutler, Dennis Collins and Kristyn Barrile from the Department of Apprentice Standards, and Arjun Shah from Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care in honor of this special week. It was inspiring to share our journey and highlight the incredible work of our OST Apprentices! ??
