On Christmas morning, Dora Moono Nyambe a UN recognized humanitarian and founder of Footprints of Hope NGO passed away. Dora dedicated her life to providing education to impoverished rural children and eradicating forced marriage. She was a beacon of hope to those she served, a source of inspiration to the millions that followed her online and to me, a close?friend. When we first discussed the idea of writing a book about her life, it was all about leaving a legacy. At the time we imagined that her mission would continue to expand exponentially. To see her life and impact cut short is a devastating blow. While writing Under a Zambian Tree, I spent countless hours in Mapapa village shadowing and learning from Dora. On a personal level,?I am proud of the work and legacy my friend has left behind and will strive to continue to tell her story and support the mission of Footprints of Hope. “Each of us regardless of our race, gender, or background, can make an incredible difference. We must simply have faith in ourselves and let kindness lead our way” - Dora Moono Nyambe
