Huge congratulations to Anand Chandrasekaran and the Aira Technologies team. It's been great to see the industry line up behind you, and even participate in your financing! Congratulations, too, to early investors Acrew Capital (Asad Khaliq) and Neotribe Ventures (Swaroop Kolluri)
?? We're thrilled to share that Aira's raised $14.5 million in Series B to expand and accelerate AI/ML-based solutions for improving wireless networks' operating efficiency, energy efficiency, and spectral efficiency. We’ll use these funds to supercharge the momentum behind Naavik, Aira’s GenAI platform for Telcos. AT&T, Intel Capital, IQT (In-Q-Tel), Juniper Networks, and JTM LLC joined this round with our existing investors Neotribe Ventures and Acrew Capital. ?? When we invested in Ruli, a big part of the reason was that they were building with tremendous velocity. Xi Sun has written a great post with his observations on how they accomplished this level of speed: start-ups: this is worth a quick read. If anyone is interested in a co-pilot for inhouse legal teams, you should also check out Ruli's product.
Lessons from Building Ruli: How Our Engineering Team Shipped 500+ Features in a Year and make users happy ?? 1. “Best” engineering practices have different meanings in different settings. What works in large companies doesn’t always apply to early-stage startups. Some practices may even be counterintuitive. 2. Cut off all frameworks and abstraction layers. For example, use OpenAI's native API instead of LangChain. 3. Write no unit tests. Focus more on end-to-end (e2e) and synthetic tests. (For instance, we use Datadog’s synthetic tests to catch most of our production issues.) 4. Utilize concise and async communication. Eliminate random meetings, engineering docs, and lengthy greetings. Start communication with the problem or bug you’re stuck on, and end with a solution, how the team can help, and the next steps. Continuously adjust the roadmap based on customer feedback. 5. Write all features like a script instead of an OOP class. 6. Bring in fewer vendors unless absolutely necessary. Maintain full control over all integrations. 7. Make decisions fast. If Solution A and Solution B both have pros and cons, pick the one that takes less time to implement and makes users happy. 8. Avoid random meetups, socials, and VC meetings. Focus on improving the product and talking to users. 9. Less is more. Write easy-to-follow code instead of refactoring it into deeply nested frameworks no one understands. 10. No leetcode and FAANG obsession in hiring. Hire people who can contribute to your codebase from day -1. Yes, every hire writes code for a real feature before they join. Interested in learning more about Ruli? The US is ahead in many of the "next gen technologies" (foundational LLMs, for example). China is ahead in a couple of notable areas-- examples include robotics, EVs, and self-driving. This demo is a very clever hybrid of multiple form factor robots to get the best of each world. (this is their "Lynx" all-terrain robot (read their blog at deeprobotics.cn/en)
Here is some nightmare fuel for you. Chinese company Deep Robotics released a hype video of their quadruple platform and it’s giving off serious black mirror vibes.

This is a pretty great accomplishment: DeepScribe working with Texas Oncology to make their physicians more effective by freeing them from crushing paperwork. Go, go Matthew Ko and team
Today, we're proud to feature an exceptional healthcare group - the largest private oncology practice in the world. The 1,000+ clinicians of Texas Oncology bring their expertise and compassion to cancer patients every day, across more than 240 clinic locations. Not too long ago, as Dr. Gury Doshi will tell you, she and her clinical teams were spending an excessive amount of time documenting the day’s visits at home (yes, often in their pajamas). Missed family time. Risk of burnout. Compromised physician wellbeing. On top of it all, oncology requires comprehensive patient charts, and cancer visits are frequently too complex to document (and recall) fully at the end of a long day. Better documentation can mean better care. Then, Texas Oncology partnered with DeepScribe to address the problem, and have since completed more than 150,000 encounters with our oncology-specific AI scribing. As Texas Oncology VP of Operations Mike Marino, EdD says, their adoption goal “was blasted from the beginning,” with clinician adoption between 70 and 90 percent. Our teams are so proud to work with the leaders and clinicians at Texas Oncology, ensuring an ambient AI solution that’s just right for them: AI that is easy to use, is natural to their workflow, and understands what oncologists want – and need – in a clinical note. Anyone who’s been to a Texas Oncology clinic sees the passion and care with which they treat patients. We spent time recently doing just that, talking with some of the team, and learning how DeepScribe ambient AI has become part of their day and patient visits. Check out the video for more. #oncology #specialtycare #ambientAI #patientexperience #clinicianwellbeing
