Last Saturday, we celebrated our farmers and food makers at our annual Foodwise Seller Appreciation Party! ?? Our sellers took a break from the rain and caught up with each other over a warm, hearty, and delicious selection of farm-fresh dishes catered by our friends at Paula LeDuc Fine Catering & Events, generously hosted by the Ferry Building. This special gathering also marked Director of Operations Lulu Meyer's 20th year with Foodwise. ??Friends from our market operations team, both past and present, stopped by to celebrate Lulu's many years of hard work, care, and commitment to our farmers market community. We're so grateful to all of the dedicated farmers and food makers who make the farmers market happen and nourish our Bay Area community with fresh, healthy local food week after week. ????

This week, we welcomed Foodwise Kids back to the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market for the spring semester! ?? ?? Last year, we hosted 93 field trips, where 1,808 SFUSD elementary school students and 370 adult chaperones explored the market. We’re so excited to see more elementary school students enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables, meet local farmers, and learn about healthy, seasonal food this year. ???? ?? Our education programs couldn’t happen without your support. Thank you to every volunteer, farmer, and donor for empowering the next generation of healthy eaters. ?? Want to get involved? Meet Lulu, our Director of Operations! Lulu has been a part of Foodwise for 20 years, overseeing the Market Operations team and making sure that all of our farmers markets run smoothly. Lulu shares more about what she picks up at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. The Market Operations team works with all of the food makers and farmers in our markets. Along with making sure everything goes according to plan, they also lead important programs like our Market Match program, which ensures that people with EBT can also stock up on the farm-fresh produce available at every market. #foodwise #education #farmersmarkets #community #ferryplazafarmersmarket #farmersmarket #sffarmersmarket #localfood #eatlocal #lovelocalca #foodeducation
