?? Celebrate Taylor Hanson's 42nd Birthday with a Gift That Gives Back! ?? This year, we’re honoring Food On The Move founder Taylor Hanson’s 42nd birthday by making a real impact! Instead of gifts, we’re asking our friends, supporters, and community to donate $42 to help fight food insecurity and expand access to fresh, healthy food in Tulsa. Your donation will support our Community Food & Resource Festivals, which ensure that families who live in food deserts have access to fresh produce, hot meals, and vital resources. Together, we can continue transforming food deserts into thriving communities. Let’s celebrate Taylor’s passion for food justice by making a difference—one meal at a time. Donate $42 today and be part of the movement! ???? https://lnkd.in/g_NEB8zE #FoodOnTheMove #Donate42 #EndFoodDeserts #CommunityImpact #HappyBirthdayTaylorHanson

Big things start small. ?? This may not look like much now, but what you're seeing is the beginning of something transformational. When fully assembled and in production, this aquaponics system at the Food On The Move Urban Farm will grow 185,000 pounds of fresh produce every year—providing access to healthy food, creating jobs, and supporting local farmers. We are building more than just a farm. We’re creating a sustainable food system that empowers communities and transforms food deserts into places of opportunity. Stay tuned as we bring this vision to life! #FoodOnTheMove #UrbanFarm #Aquaponics #FoodAccess #Sustainability #Innovation

It was an incredible honor to have Kevin Harper, President and CEO of Food On The Move, and our founder, Taylor Hanson, speak at the FIT Symposium at Johnson & Wales University, sharing insights on a mission that drives us daily—combating food deserts and transforming food access. Access to fresh, healthy food is a fundamental right, yet too many communities remain trapped in cycles of food insecurity. At Food On The Move, we are committed to breaking these cycles through education, innovation, and direct action, ensuring families not only have food on their tables but also the resources to create lasting change. Speaking with students, faculty, and industry leaders at Johnson & Wales reinforced the power of collaboration and community-driven solutions in this fight. It’s not just about providing food; it’s about creating sustainable systems, empowering people, and changing the narrative around food access. A huge thank you to Johnson & Wales University and the organizers of the FIT Symposium for bringing these critical conversations to the forefront. Let’s keep the momentum going—because healthy food should be a right, not a privilege. #foodonthemove?#foodinsecurity?#fooddesert?#foodaccess

"A Tulsa nonprofit is celebrating woman who are making a difference in their communities and beyond at a gala this weekend. "A heart is the emblem of the Mita's Foundation. The nonprofit’s focus is helping underserved children and their families in Peru, but they do a lot of work locally too, and are celebrating those with giving hearts. "Tina Pe?a’s sole purpose in life is giving back to others. She founded Mita’s Foundation after her mother passed away in 2009. "'Mita used to take things to Peru and didn't even tell us. We used to pay for extra baggage because she was taking all this stuff to people she didn't know,' Tina said." We are proud to partner with such a great organization like MITA's Foundation. Not only are they doing good in Tulsa but also serving families in Peru! Read the full FOX23 News story below!

At Food On The Move, we believe that the key to fighting food insecurity, improving community health, and strengthening our local economy starts with supporting local farmers. By working directly with farmers, ranchers, and growers, we’re creating a food system that prioritizes access, quality, and sustainability. Here’s how: ? Fighting Food Insecurity – Fresh, locally grown food shouldn’t be a luxury. We’re bridging the gap by ensuring that nutritious produce reaches those who need it most. ? Healthier Communities – Locally sourced food is fresher, more nutrient-dense, and free from unnecessary processing. Better food means better health. ? Stronger Local Farms – When we buy from local farmers, we keep dollars in our community, supporting small businesses and creating opportunities for growth. ? A More Resilient Food System – The closer our food sources are, the less we rely on complex supply chains. Investing in local production makes our food system more secure and sustainable. This is why we’re committed to partnering with farmers, building a food hub, and creating innovative solutions like hydroponic and aquaponic farming to ensure long-term food security. Together, we can rebuild our food system one farm, one family, and one meal at a time. Want to be part of the change? Support your local farmers. Buy local. Advocate for food access. Let’s make a difference—together! ?? #FoodOnTheMove #LocalFarms #FoodAccess #SustainableFood #FightFoodInsecurity #BuyLocal
