It was a phenomenal and productive morning with my son Cyrus, friends and colleagues across the insurance industry to support Food Bank of the Rockies! Collectively, our volunteer group handled over 100,000 pounds of food for distribution across the Colorado community. Together, we can really make a difference for our neighbors facing food insecurity. Thank you to the various industry organizations who supported their team members to donate their time today! Challenge accepted Amanda Franklin! I am proud to #IWorkForComcast because of the amazing teammates I get to work with everyday. Never would I have thought I could find colleagues who felt like family. At Comcast, I have teammates and leaders who care about the "whole" me, support my growth and develpment and challenge me to be my best. I'm also proud of our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve through our TeamUp volunteer events. Our MWR HR team recently spent the afternoon supporting Food Bank of the Rockies, and we helped sort more than 15,000 pounds of food to be distributed throughout Colorado and Wyoming. Innovation. Culturally responsive. Sustainable. Those three words easily describe the incredible work at the Food Bank of the Rockies. I had the privilege of volunteering there last week, helping to make over 2,000 lunches for kids. ?????? What impressed me most was learning about the innovative programs they’re piloting—programs that could be scaled nationwide! ?? Big thanks to Propeller for organizing this experience ??. I’m grateful for the opportunity to see firsthand how the Food Bank is tackling food insecurity in such a forward-thinking way. (Shoutout to Colby B., one of my fellow volunteers!) Another successful year of #MAXXDay with MAXX Properties ?? Feeling very grateful to work with Food Bank of the Rockies this year ??

One of my favorite Brownstein traditions is getting our new Denver associates to hit the ground running with their Karma projects. Yesterday, our fall associates and LAW SCHOOL...Yes We Can! intern joined me at Food Bank of the Rockies, where we packed 2,322 pounds of food which will provide 1,935 meals to our community. Way to demonstrate our 'giving back' core value! #givingback #karma

Family Star Montessori has been partnering with Food Bank of the Rockies for six years! As one of our Hunger Relief Partners, they receive food through the Food for Kids Program and also operate a food pantry. Every Friday, Family Star Montessori hosts a no-cost food distribution, also known as their Food Collaborative, where they help about 100 families weekly. Katie Goldstone, Child Services Director at Family Star Montessori School, expressed: “This program is important on so many levels. A child can’t be in good health if they don’t have enough food to eat and their parents don’t know how to prepare [that food for] them. The food can really support a family's mental health, too, to take some of the pressure off financially and in terms of convenience when it comes to barriers to transportation. [This partnership] makes perfect sense for our program and as a fit for everything we do.” ??

Meet Sous Chef Adrienne! Adrienne is integral to our Food for Kids Program and helps prepare and oversee the delicious meals that we craft and deliver to children throughout our community. With a focus on quality and nutrition, Adrienne ensures that every dish made at Food Bank of the Rockies meets the USDA's high standards and is packed with wholesome ingredients. ?????? Thank you, Adrienne, for using your expertise to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of kids throughout Colorado. ??

Quinn and Kenna Perlmutter are inspiring examples of how young people can create a meaningful impact! As the youngest recipients of the Denver7 (KMGH-TV) Everyday Hero award, these sisters have dedicated nearly three years to volunteering every weekend at Food Bank of the Rockies.
