Happy Thanksgiving from your friends at the Regional Food Bank! Please note, our distribution centers will be closed today and tomorrow.

It’s Thanksgiving week, and our team is still working hard to make sure our partner agencies have what they need before the holiday!

We were happy to welcome NYS Attorney General Letitia James to our Albany County Distribution Center yesterday. We had the chance to share about our efforts to alleviate hunger throughout our 23-county service area!

Thank you to everyone who participated in and helped support the Regional Food Bank’s Thanksgiving Distribution. Thousands of Capital Region residents - families, seniors, kids, individuals - will have a better holiday week because of this community effort. Together, we provided 150,000 meals to neighbors from sites at the Regional Food Bank, Metropolitan Church, Albany County Board of Elections Lot, Fuze Box, Unity House/CEO, Hudson Valley Community College, Connect Center, and Coxsackie Village Hall. More than 20 senior sites across six counties received deliveries of chef- and culinary student-prepared meals. Hundreds of volunteers and financial & in-kind supporters helped make it all possible. We are so grateful for the support, and we are honored to have had the chance to help make Thanksgiving special for thousands of neighbors in need.

Ever wondered what 150,000 meals looks like? Each one of these trucks is on the way to one of our Thanksgiving Distribution sites, where we’ll help feed 30,000 people today. It’s the largest, single-day coordinated food distribution in Capital Region history. A distribution of this magnitude is only possible through the support of our partners, volunteers, and a very generous community coming together. Thank you!

Yesterday, we were joined at People's Place Food Pantry by Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger, Kingston Mayor Steve Noble, and Max Finberg from Chobani for the announcement of Chobani’s “Super Milk." This delicious, shelf-stable milk was developed by Chobani specifically for disaster relief and food banks. The Regional Food Bank is incredibly proud to partner in the launch. We have already delivered two tractor trailers to 250 food pantries, and the response has been phenomenal!

Our Thanksgiving Distribution is just a few days away! This community effort will provide 150,000 meals to 30,000 people in six counties. If you are in need of help this Thanksgiving, please take a look at the fliers to find a site near you!
