Members of the Food Bank team had a great time in the Village of Montgomery St. Patrick’s Day Parade yesterday!

Our CEO, Tom Nardacci, took part in a non-profit round table discussion today hosted by Troy Mayor Carmella Montello. The round table was an opportunity for a wide variety of non-profits serving Troy and Rensselaer County to discuss successes, challenges, and to identify opportunities for collaboration. It was a great discussion that underscored the importance of partnerships in driving positive change!

As the Muslim holy month of Ramadan comes to a close, we are thankful for the continued support of the Muslim community! During this time of fasting, please remember your neighbors in need by donating the cost of meals not eaten to the Food Bank’s Ramadan Hunger Appeal. The Food Bank provides four meals for every dollar it spends, so donations of any size make a big impact. Thanks to a generous donation of $250,000 from the Orange County Funding Corporation (OCFC), a sister agency of the Orange County Industrial Development Agency (IDA), the Food Bank was able to purchase a generator for our Orange County Distribution Center! Delivered yesterday, this generator will minimize risk during power outages to make sure our inventory remains safe! Bill Fioravanti, CEO of the Orange County IDA; Felicia Kalan, EVP Hudson Valley, Regional Food Bank; Jeff Crist, Crist Apples and Orange County IDA Board Member; and Tom Nardacci, CEO of the Regional Food Bank were at the Food Bank for the exciting delivery yesterday!
