Proud to stand with frontline community food providers and lived experience advocates in the fight to protect SNAP! Cuts to SNAP would impact nearly 3 million New Yorkers who receive the monthly benefit to buy food. "SNAP is the nation’s greatest anti-hunger program,” Natasha Pernicka said. “Not only are you giving people resources to shop at a grocery store, giving them the dignity to choose the items they are most familiar with eating, but it also has an economic return for our entire community.” Thank you The Daily Gazette for covering this important work! https://lnkd.in/eCsjMzMr #ProtectSNAP

Working together to feed the hungry in our community, The Food Pantries for the Capital District is a coalition of more than 70 food pantries located in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties. Annually, The Food Pantries helps fund, collect, and deliver 1,380.01 tons of food for our food member pantries, which helps provide food for approximately 2.7 million meals. We also support our member pantries by providing service coordination, education, training, opportunities for networking, and infant needs and holiday meals programs. Established in 1979, The Food Pantries for the Capital District is a 501 (c) (3). For more information on our programs, or how you can help, please visit www.thefoodpantries.org.
