On February 25, Food Bank For New York City, alongside City Harvest and United Way of New York City, led nearly 100 advocates to Albany to fight for real change! Together, we met with 35 state legislators, pushing for critical funding in the New York State budget to tackle food insecurity, housing instability, and the high cost of childcare. Many of our advocates—community members who rely on food pantries and essential resources—shared powerful stories about the struggles of keeping food on the table amid rising costs. Our key asks: ?? $75M each for Hunger Prevention & Nutrition Assistance Program + Nourish NY ?? $5.6M for Nutrition Outreach & Education Program ?? $100 minimum SNAP benefit ?? Stronger State Housing Voucher Program ?? Expanded childcare subsidies & fair pay for childcare workers With millions of New Yorkers facing growing financial hardship, we’re calling on lawmakers to make bold, life-changing investments in our communities. The time for action is NOW! Raise your voice today: https://bit.ly/4ihPBLy #StateBudget #NewYork #Advocacy

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up to make a difference - change happens when we come together! #BHM #Volunteer #GiveBack

Every day, Chef Sheri and our team serve hot, nutritious meals to our #NYC neighbors—because food is more than just a meal; it’s care, dignity, and #community. Her answer is everything—watch now: https://lnkd.in/eykdSAEH

Cindy & David grew up in Harlem, fell in love in high school, and built a life together through the ups & downs. ?? They visit Food Bank’s Community Kitchen & Pantry, where a meal is always there when they need it. Most recently, they joined us for our Halal Turkey pick-up, making sure they had something special to share. This Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating love that cares, love that shows up, and love that makes sure no one in #NYC goes without.
