Our Mobile Pantry at the Renaissance School of Arts was buzzing with energy as Vita Coco volunteers showed up strong—helping distribute fresh, culturally relevant food AND keeping our community hydrated with their coconutty products (including their new Treats line! ??) More than 175 households took home fresh produce like yuca, pineapple, and papaya, along with pantry staples, 200 period kits, and fresh flowers from Scotts Flowers NYC in honor of Women's History Month. ?? From student volunteers to neighbors lending a hand, this pantry isn’t just about food—it’s about community, connection, and care. ??

This #InternationalWomensDay, let’s get real. Women do it all—working, raising kids, running households. But did you know they also face higher poverty rates, lower wages, and greater food insecurity than men? ?? In NYC, over 825,000 women live below the poverty line. ?? Women-led households earn 30% less than male-led ones. ??? And 31.6% of female-led households rely on SNAP to get by. That’s why Food Bank For NYC is stepping up—to provide food, baby formula, hygiene products, and more to the women and families who need it most. But we can’t do it alone. ?? Stand with us. Donate, advocate, and help make food security a reality for all women. ?? Take action today: https://bit.ly/3QNQ9xa

At this year’s Food Bank For NYC Partner Summit, we didn’t just talk about food insecurity—we tackled the issues head-on with some of the most dedicated partners, advocates, and community leaders in the city. ? We broke down the numbers—over 1.2 million New Yorkers are struggling to afford food, and women, families, and seniors are being hit the hardest. ? We held powerful discussions on how brands can step up—not just as donors, but as true partners in the fight for food security. ? We heard from powerful voices like Chef Fidel Caballero & Adam Richman on how food brings people together and why community-driven solutions matter. ? We got to work, packing over 300 hygiene kits filled with essentials like menstrual products and toothbrushes—because dignity is just as important as a meal. This event wasn’t just about learning—it was about turning knowledge into action and partnerships into solutions. Because food security takes all of us. ?? Want to be part of the change? Donate, advocate, and help us build a food-secure NYC. ?? Join the mission: https://bit.ly/4imGiKE

Food insecurity is a reality for too many New Yorkers—but it doesn’t have to be. This week, our team joined City Harvest and Feeding America in Washington, D.C., to advocate for stronger federal support for food assistance programs like SNAP and TEFAP, which help families access the food they need. With major decisions on the federal budget and Farm Bill coming up, we made sure NYC’s needs were heard loud and clear. We met with eight congressional offices—including both of New York’s Senators and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries—sharing real stories from the communities we serve. We also dropped off key information at five additional offices, reinforcing one urgent message: food assistance programs must be protected and strengthened, not cut. The fight against #foodinsecurity isn’t just about food—it’s about policy. And we’re not backing down. Grateful to our partners at Feeding America and the elected officials who took the time to listen. Now, we’re back in #NYC, more determined than ever to keep pushing for the resources our communities need. ?? Email your representatives today and urge them to protect food assistance programs: https://bit.ly/4kuHLQB
