Yesterday morning, our Executive Director Wenonah Hauter and staff joined our allies in the labor movement in Washington DC for a rally to save our civil services ?? Trump and Musk are attempting to illegally dismantle federal agencies – and NOW is the time to oppose their dangerous actions!

Unsurprisingly, Trump's first executive orders are virulently anti-democratic and pro-polluter. We're not giving up on efforts to stop as much damage as we can and build a better future for all.

?? VICTORY ?? Thanks to the progressive movement raising its voices and mobilizing quickly, we just stopped the Trump administration from implementing a federal funding freeze that would have impacted federal grants, loans and other assistance to vital programs that protect our food, water, climate and more! This is one of our first wins against this draconian administration, and it won’t be the last. But Republicans have shown their hand – they will put people’s lives on the line and enrich their billionaire cronies at the expense of everyday Americans ?? We need to hold every member of Congress that supported the freeze accountable, and we’ll keep fighting Trump’s malicious agenda at every turn!

As our Senior Food Policy Analyst Rebecca Wolf says, “If the incoming FDA is serious about food safety and system reform, they should build on this win by endorsing scientifically sound policies and regulatory changes.”

?? VICTORY ?? New York State's Climate Change Superfund Act officially passed over the holidays, which means that fossil fuel corporations will now have to pay for cleanup of climate disasters! Thanks to everyone who joined us in organizing for this bill, and to Governor Kathy Hochul for signing it into law.
