Last Friday, March 14th, was an exciting day at our David Prouty High School site as we had the pleasure of welcoming 200 middle school students from the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District for a tour of their future high school! As a special half-day activity, students had the opportunity to join Fontaine team members Alex Omar, Rob Day, Nicole Ferreira, Mark Abdella, Tyler Langan and Elizabeth Wambui; Superintendent of Schools Paul S. Haughey, Ed.D.; representatives from JONES WHITSETT ARCHITECTS, INC. and Colliers Project Leaders | USA for a tour of the building they'll one day call home! As the tour groups rotated through the construction site, the students also had the chance to meet with current David Prouty students to learn about some of the clubs and activities available to them once they reach high school. ? At Fontaine, we’re always looking for ways to get students involved and engaged with the projects that will shape the future of education in their community! Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible! #BuildingTheFuture #SchoolConstruction

  • On Tuesday, Fontaine's Elizabeth Wambui and Tracy Routhier joined other Worcester-area business leaders to share their professional stories with students at Shrewsbury High School. Liz and Tracy had the opportunity to speak about their unique journeys to their current roles as part of Shrewsbury Public School’s commitment to helping its students understand and plan workforce opportunities and the diversity of careers available to them. As students explore their future paths, events like this provide insight into the variety of opportunities ahead—from the field to the office and everything in between. ? A strong industry is one that reflects the world around it. At Fontaine, we recognize that the future of construction depends on the next generation of workers and that through creating an industry that reflects the diverse communities where we build, we create stronger teams and a better future for all. This conversation ties directly into Women in Construction Week and its purpose of working together to create a more inclusive industry. As said best by Tracy, "As I reflect on Women in Construction Week, I’m reminded of the attributes that make a great team. Great teams are dynamic—they thrive on the influence of diverse perspectives, expertise, backgrounds, and strengths. This week, we celebrate not just women in construction, but generations of bravery, resilience, and positive risk-taking. We honor the women who have broken through barriers and continue to challenge stereotypes. At the same time, we acknowledge the ongoing work to raise awareness of gender-based biases and are committed to creating an environment where every team member's unique contributions are valued and celebrated. ? At Fontaine Brothers, we prioritize inclusivity. Creating an environment where all individuals—especially women—feel respected, reflected, and empowered to succeed is one of our core principles. Our commitment to these values aligns with The Fontaine Way, where creating an inclusive environment and ensuring that everyone feels like they belong are fundamental to our culture. We remain steadfast in our belief in working together with respect and diversity. Here’s to the women who are shaping the future of construction and to the amazing teams that uplift and empower each other." #WomenInConstruction #FutureOfConstruction

  • For day four of #NationalWomenInConstructionWeek, we’re excited to reshare a video about our partnership with the National Association of Women in Construction, where we joined forces to host a Coffee & Conversation discussion. The event brought together women from all corners of the construction industry to connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate on creating a more inclusive and diverse environment that empowers women in the field. ? After the event, we spoke with some of the incredible women at Fontaine to hear about their journeys, their involvement in the event, and the advice they’d give to women looking to enter the construction industry. If you're thinking about joining the field, don’t be afraid to take the first step—let Elizabeth Wambui, Tracy Routhier, and Beth Paulson serve as proof that the trades are a place where women can grow, succeed, and build their future. #WomenInConstruction #ThrowbackThursday

  • In honor of Women in Construction Week, we wanted to shine a special spotlight on our East Longmeadow High School project. Last week, we celebrated the Topping Off Ceremony for this 191,796-square-foot school, a major milestone made possible by the collaboration of the many talented women leading the project. From Danielle Judge at Fontaine, to Lynn Banach, PMP of Skanska, Dorrie Brooks from JONES WHITSETT ARCHITECTS, INC., and Helen Fantini & Mariana Hernandez, AIA from SMMA, each woman’s expertise has been essential to this project’s success. ? Alongside the talented women on the Construction Management, OPM, and Architectural?teams, tradeswomen on site are making an impact every day. Prior to the ceremony, East Longmeadow’s very own Erin Chrusciel joined us on site to document how their skill and dedication play an essential role in bringing this project to life. Here’s to the women leading the way, breaking down barriers, and building the spaces where we live, work, and learn. #WomenInConstructionWeek #BuildingTheFuture

  • Tyngsborough Public Schools' Communication & Media Director Jackie Richardson and her high school intern, Katie, recently joined Fontaine’s Patrick Spellane and Tyler Langan for a tour of the Tyngsborough Middle School project site. As they walked through the 112,000 sq. ft. building, they saw the progress firsthand and captured many photos along the way! ? The tour group visited classrooms and science rooms in Buildings A and C that are nearing completion, as well as the flex performance area that will soon be home to student productions and creativity. For Katie, it was a unique opportunity to apply her photography and storytelling skills in a real-world setting, learning how to capture construction progress and showcase the hard work happening behind the scenes. ? At Fontaine, we’re always looking for ways to get students involved and engaged with the projects that will shape the future of education in their community! #ConstructionUpdate #StudentInvolvement #BuildingTheFuture
