Today’s most effective learning environments are anything but static. Interactive learning spaces invite students to engage—whether through collaboration, discussion, exploration, or movement. They’re flexible, responsive, and built to support a wide range of activities that go far beyond sitting at a desk. Movement-based learning is a key part of that. When students can shift between zones, reconfigure furniture, or simply move with intention throughout the day, they’re more focused, more empowered, and more connected to their learning. At Fōmcore, we design soft seating that supports these dynamic spaces. Our products are lightweight, adaptable, and made to encourage participation—whether in small group settings, calming corners, or wide-open commons areas. For school leaders and design teams, creating interactive spaces isn’t just about adding new furniture—it’s about shaping environments that reflect the way students actually learn. Let’s create spaces that move with them. #FōmcoreFurniture #InteractiveLearning #MovementMatters #StudentCentered #LearningEnvironments #FlexibleSeating #ServeCreateInspire #K12Education #SchoolDesign #ConnectEngageBelong

Collaboration doesn’t happen by accident—it’s supported by intentional design. From flexible seating to acoustic and visual considerations, the physical environment plays a critical role in how students connect, engage, and learn together. These five elements are just a few ways to start encouraging collaboration in the classroom—small shifts that can make a big impact on student engagement and classroom culture. "How do your students see themselves in the spaces of your school?" Belonging isn’t just a feeling—it’s a need. And for students, the design of their learning environment plays a powerful role in shaping that experience. At Fōmcore, we believe that when students feel seen, safe, and valued, they’re more likely to engage, take risks, and grow. But that starts with the spaces themselves—spaces that reflect student identities, invite collaboration, and promote agency. Creating belonging isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s intentional. It takes asking questions, listening to students, and designing with empathy. In his article, #ExpertInTheField David Jakes explores what it means to design for belonging and why it matters now more than ever. Education is always evolving. The way students learn, the way teachers teach, and the environments that support them are constantly shifting. So why should classroom furniture stay the same? Some still see soft seating as just a trend—something that will come and go. But the reality? Soft seating is more adaptable than traditional desks and chairs ever were. ? It moves with students – shifting and reconfiguring as needs change. ? It adapts to learning styles – supporting focus, collaboration, and creativity. ? It makes space more inclusive – offering students a choice in how they learn best. Unlike the rigid rows of desks and chairs from the past, soft seating isn’t locked into place—it evolves as students do. It’s not about replacing structure, but about designing for flexibility, engagement, and long-term usability. Soft seating isn’t just a shift in design—it’s a shift in how we think about learning spaces. And that’s something that will always keep evolving. #FlexibleSeating #EducationInnovation #ClassroomDesign #FōmcoreFurniture #LearningEnvironments #StudentCentered #DealerDesign #EducationSpaces

Interactive design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about how students engage with their environment. From the physical structure of seating to the textiles that cover them, intentional design turns everyday classroom furniture into active learning tools. Our Confetti Convo Doodle textile brings energy and engagement into the classroom. More than just a pattern, it’s a conversation starter, a learning tool, and a way to encourage participation. ? Student-driven discussions – Pass a Lily Pad, read a question, and spark a conversation. ? Active participation – Toss it around, let students pick a question, and popcorn it to a classmate. ? Movement + engagement – Encourages students to interact with both the material and each other. Why does this matter? Research shows that multi-sensory learning—where students interact physically with their environment—enhances retention, participation, and collaboration. When students are actively engaged, they process and retain information more effectively. And beyond functionality, this textile adds color and energy to the classroom, creating a space where students feel inspired and engaged. Terrell ISD wanted to create a space where students could comfortably prepare for their next steps—whether that meant researching schools, filling out applications, or meeting with advisors. The existing space was outdated and no longer met the needs of today’s students. That’s where Lone Star Furnishings came in. Working closely with the district, they helped reimagine the space with intentional design, functional layouts, and flexible seating—transforming it into the Go Room, a dedicated environment designed to support students as they plan for their futures. Fōmcore is excited to be part of the transformation, with custom textiles and soft seating that helped bring a fresh, vibrant aesthetic to the room. Now, the Go Room isn’t just a place to sit—it’s a space that encourages focus, engagement, and preparation for what’s next. The impact? A dedicated environment that is both energizing and meaningful, giving students the tools and space they need to focus on their next steps. The feedback from students and staff has been overwhelmingly positive, and we couldn’t be more excited to see how this space continues to serve the school community. Huge shoutout to Lone Star Furnishings for their work in bringing this vision to life! #DealerSuccessStory #FōmcoreFurniture #StudentCentered #LearningEnvironments #CollegePrep #FutureReady #EducationInnovation #LoneStarFurnishings #ClassroomDesign #FlexibleSeating

What happens when students have a say in how they learn? When students have agency in the classroom, they become more than just participants—they take ownership of their learning experience. Whether it’s choosing where they sit, how they engage, or how they collaborate, giving students the ability to make decisions leads to higher motivation, deeper focus, and stronger learning outcomes. Creating spaces that support student agency isn’t just about furniture—it’s about designing environments that foster independence, engagement, and adaptability. How can we continue to build classrooms that empower students to take control of their learning? #StudentAgency #ClassroomEngagement #FlexibleSeating #FōmcoreFurniture #DynamicSeating #EducationInnovation #StudentCentered #ConnectEngageBelong #SchoolDesign
