?????????????? ???????? ???????????? ???????????????? ???????? ?????????? ?????? ?????????? ???????? ???????????? ?????????????? ?????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ?????????? ???????? ???????????? Twenty-nine dedicated students from Folsom Cordova USD were rewarded with brand-new Trek FX1 bicycles after completing a challenging 32-mile ride along the scenic American River Parkway from Beals Point to Discovery Park on Saturday, November 9. The ride marked the culmination of the 2024 Junior Bike Patrol program, an innovative partnership with the American River Bike Patrol aimed at inspiring teens and teaching them how to ride safely, care for a bike, and use basic first aid skills. The Junior Bike Patrol program, supported by the City of Rancho Cordova and generous donors, aims to introduce teens to cycling as a mode of transportation while teaching them essential life skills. For many students, the program marked their first experience riding long distances; some had never ridden beyond their neighborhood before. Over the ten weeks, they built both their physical and mental resilience by tackling greater distances each week, learning safe riding techniques, bike maintenance, and even first aid. Special thanks to Cordova High School teacher Lina Washabaugh, Principal Amy Strawn, and the American River Bike Patrol (ARBP) for their invaluable guidance and support in fostering meaningful connections with our students throughout the program. We also extend our gratitude to Rancho Cordova Police Chief Tamayo, the Sacramento City Fire Department, National Ski Patrol Far West Division Director Nancy Stromboli, and the Sacramento County Regional Parks Department for their collaboration and support. Additionally, heartfelt thanks to the supportive families and Rancho Cordova city leaders who joined us in celebrating the students’ achievements. Your collective efforts truly made this program a unique and inspiring experience for all involved.

?????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????? ?????????????? ?????????????????????????? ???? ?????????? ?????????????? Cordova High School seniors from the Business Technology Academy recently took part in the 'Budget Cents' financial literacy simulation, an event made possible through FCUSD’s partnership with SAFE Credit Union. This hands-on workshop provided students with practical money management experience, guiding them through real-life financial scenarios in a supportive environment. “The goal is to help students gain a stronger understanding of budgeting and how to avoid unnecessary debt,” said Celia Portillo, Business Tech Academy student member and SAFE Intern / Campus Branch Manager. As part of this partnership, SAFE Credit Union operates a working branch on Cordova High’s campus, where students manage operations. This allows CHS students to open and manage their own savings accounts, gaining firsthand experience in personal finance. Ryan Scott, a teacher at Cordova High School, added, “SAFE Credit Union is a major partner of the Business Technology Academy. This event helps students understand not just how to budget, but how to thrive financially.” FCUSD is proud to work with local community partners to bring enriching educational experiences to students across Rancho Cordova and Folsom. These partnerships provide students with unique learning opportunities that prepare them for future success, both academically and professionally. We are grateful for the continued support of our community partners, who share our commitment to empowering students.

?????????????? ???????? ?????????????? ???????????????????? ???? ???????????? ?????????????? ???????? ???? ???????? Rancho Cordova High School Lancers, past and present, celebrated at the Rancho Cordova Sports Hall of Fame put on by the RANCHO CORDOVA ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (RCAA). The RCAA recently held its 9th Annual Induction Ceremony, and celebrated the notorious 1977 Cordova High School football team for their legendary 12-0 season, including a thrilling 54-35 victory over Mira Loma for the city title—considered one of the best Sacramento-area high school football games ever played. The event also featured a strong showing from current Cordova Lancers, who played a crucial role in making the evening a success by greeting and welcoming honored guests, including Lancer alumni and community leaders, while students from the District's Career Technical Education Culinary Academy catered the event with a delicious menu that showcased their growing expertise. Superintendent Erik Swanson, Cordova High School Principal, Amy Strawn, and many other District leaders attended the ceremony, connecting with both current and former students and players, further strengthening the bond between generations of Lancers. In addition to the 1977 team, the Hall of Fame inducted 11 other individual inductees, each recognized for their impressive athletic achievements and contributions to the Rancho Cordova community, as well as contributions to the success of FCUSD sports programs. The Folsom Cordova Unified School District is proud of the Lancers for stepping up to support this memorable event. Their involvement served as a bridge between past Lancer accomplishments and the bright future of current students.

Students and staff at Cordova Meadows Elementary School came together today to receive new spirit wear t-shirts, made possible in part by a grant from the City of Rancho Cordova. “We work with many different partners and the city is one of them. Cordova Meadows is focusing on unity and came up with the project of a school shirt, the city was gracious enough to help make that happen,” Carla Gaymon-Davis, FCUSD Community Schools Coordinator said. Students were excited to don the new shirts, embroidered with the school logo, and share what the spirit wear means to them. “These t-shirts show a representation of our school, kind of what it's all about.
