Last week, we had the privilege of visiting Koenig & Bauer, the world’s oldest printing press manufacturer, founded in 1817. Renowned for their state-of-the-art inkjet and offset rotary systems used in commercial, decorative, functional, newspaper, and packaging printing, as well as their specialized presses for banknote production, Koenig & Bauer continues to lead the industry with innovation and precision. Our visit included an engaging introduction at their technical center, followed by an in-depth tour of the assembly halls and laboratories. A highlight of the day was the behind-the-scenes visit to their foundry, where the craftsmanship and innovation were truly inspiring. Witnessing molten steel being transformed into high-precision components was reminiscent of the ingenuity of the Industrial Revolution, yet firmly grounded in modern technology and expertise. During the visit, we also discussed the next steps in our collaboration, particularly the expanded use of Follmann’s water-based inks and coatings in their advanced printing solutions. This partnership underscores our shared commitment to sustainability and innovation, and we look forward to further strengthening this successful relationship.
