We were overjoyed to celebrate our community and learn from Karin Klein & Fiona Biles at Founders, Funders and Friends last week in NYC! Highlights: Self-Aware #FounderMode: Some of our most high-performing teams subscribe to Founder Mode, but mindfully. They don’t micromanage across the company but lean into their domain expertise while staying engaged in all departments. Verbs, Not Titles: Focus on what you enjoy, not the job title. Bring Your Full Self to Work: Trust and respect go both ways. Leaders can create and participate in safe spaces to empower everyone to express their unique strengths. Book Recommendations: Reboot by Jerry Colonna, Weirdly Briliant by Jason ?? Shen, The Power Law by Sebastian Mallaby Thank you Carta, Arc, Antler, Maria Pope, Brendan Bettencourt, and Eric Lo for co-hosting!

Wow, time flies. I first met Karin Klein of Bloomberg Beta almost a decade ago, and here we are getting ready to share what we’ve learned from our early careers with the next gen (that sounds quite elder-millenial of me). If you’re free this Thursday (tomorrow) from 5:30-7:00 PM, join a room of early stage founders and innovators in NYC for drinks, a fireside chat, and some informal hang time with others building in the NYC tech ecosystem. RSVP with this link and come say hi! https://lnkd.in/eZp53u2E Thank you to all the event hosts – Catherine Huang, Antler and others – for inviting me to speak. This is actually one of my favorite parts of the job! [Flash back to a fireside chat I led at True’s Leadership Summit in London last summer, ?? between two ferns ?? IYKYK]
