We are thrilled to report our recent success defending Lyft in a nationwide class action.

Five years ago, Lyft trusted us with an important issue: does Lyft have the obligation under the ADA to provide wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVS) on its ride-sharing platform? On Monday, we won our second trial on that issue, when Judge Philip Halpern of the SDNY decided that it did not.?See Lowell v. Lyft, Inc., Case No. 17-CV-06251. ? As Judge Halpern wrote in his decision, "[a]ll can agree that expanding transportation options for people with disabilities is of great importance." But this doesn't mean that a private company must bear the enormous financial burden of providing on-demand transportation by WAVs. WAV transportation is a complex and difficult issue without an easy?solution. A huge thanks to the remarkable team at Lyft, especially Blaire Z. Stokes, who trusted us to handle these important class actions for Lyft. Our dream team!
