2024 was a year of growth and momentum at RST! With the return of our fourth daily American Airlines flight to Chicago, passengers enjoyed improved connections, while the Rochester City Council’s $1.5 million fund sparked interest from low-cost airlines for potential new leisure destinations. Our Flocal (“Fly Local”) campaign also gained traction, driving a 6% increase in passenger numbers and over 4.6 million views on our playful digital ads. Here’s what’s ahead: - Runway Improvements: Progress continues on our multi-phase project, paving the way for a runway extension by 2027 to improve safety and accommodate larger aircraft. Solar-Covered Parking: Plans to create solar-panel-covered parking will improve passenger convenience and generate sustainable energy, covering half of the terminal’s energy needs. - Terminal Upgrades: Proposed enhancements include redesigned seating near baggage claim, a skyway for better accessibility, and energy-efficient upgrades to support sustainability goals. - GA Ramp Replacement: A new design for the general aviation ramp will support private planes, Mayo Clinic Air Ambulance operations, and flight school activities. We are so excited to share that The Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with RST in our Flocal efforts! ?? No, they will not be in our next Flocal video (although that would be epic) ?? They have committed to checking RST first and taking off out of our airport.
