NEW PACKAGING FOR A NEW KIND OF PRODUCT: A fancy oil in a decidedly un-fancy format High-quality olive oils come in elegant glass bottles that look great on your counter, but are they really practical to cook with? The team behind Graza believe that every kitchen deserves good, fresh olive oil that’s affordable enough to be used every day. Their single-origin oils (never blended) do just that, and they come in a squeezy bottle that makes everything easier. Made from post-consumer, 100% recyclable plastic. With a squeezy bottle and a look designed by Brooklyn-based studio Gander, the boundary between packaging and product is blurred — as Marshall McLuhan famously said, the medium is the message.

Creativity is not just an ideas game. More than anything, it’s a matter of process, organization, and the problem-solving abilities of industry-wide partnerships. In competitve DTC sectors, startups often face critical challenges despite their innovative approach and strong brand. Our recent Casper case study chronicles various stages of our ongoing journey. Here is our take: In a fast-moving startup environment, print and packaging needs are anything but predictable. One moment, you're placing a small order—the next, demand skyrockets. Just as quickly, shifting priorities can put everything on hold. To stay ahead, brands need a partner that that goes beyond standard approaches and provides guidance at every step. Print managment needs to expand from being a service provider to problem solver, from resource to ally. Read the full analysis >> https://lnkd.in/dad-sH3W

We are all about making tangible connections - whether through the feel of premium paper, the weight of a beautifully crafted business card, or the texture of innovative packaging. And we love being in good company! Thanks for the shout Jonas Zieher!
The other day, I turned to my Instagram followers for printing company recommendations that deliver to the UK for a project at ACRE ( A Creative Endeavour ). Honestly, I expected a handful of suggestions—maybe a couple of familiar names. What I got instead was an avalanche of enthusiasm and an incredible list of printers I’d never even heard of. It turns out, no matter how much you think you know an industry, there’s always more to discover when you tap into the collective wisdom of your network. Inspired by this, I compiled all the recommendations into a Notion list—because good resources should be shared, right? ?? Enjoy browsing: https://lnkd.in/eaR75ffW Got more to add? Could origami push more plastics out of packaging? It is lightweight, durable and thrives on the beauty of pure form. A team at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, in collaboration with Aalto University and Finnish industrial partners, has developed a technology to transform cardboard into origami-inspired structures. The global rise of e-commerce has increased demand for protective materials. In other words, all those standard bubble wraps and similar inserts that go inside a box to protect your precious cargo. The origami technology was inspired by traditional Japanese Miura origami pattern and open up completely new possiblities that could pave the way for a future where plastic and styrofoam fillers become a thing of the past. Excited about new research opportunities and demo packages. Watch this space! See more >> https://lnkd.in/dVx2nUYB https://fold-project.com/

Your product is out in the market; sales are rolling in—this means your packaging shouldn’t take a break. The most valuable feedback on your packaging’s performance and design will come from daily interactions with consumers and retailers. Companies constantly innovate with technology and redesign their packaging to get better performance, improve marketability, and enhance sustainability. Here’s a look at two packaging solutions on our radar for their new formats or redesigns: Daily Harvest gets more freezer (and supply chain) friendly? Food brand Daily Harvest has recently changed several elements of its packaging as it expanded from being direct-to-consumer to having products in retail stores.?The rationale? Some of its containers didn’t play well in the freezer aisle. Specifically, the company said the single-serve bowls’ packaging caused several to topple out of the freezer if a consumer grabbed one. Those products now come in a box for two significant reasons: this packaging is more durable during transport through the supply chain and it allows for a shelf life that’s six months longer. Tost cans it Nonalcoholic drinks company TOST Beverages has introduced 250-milliliter cans alongside its existing lineup of 250-milliliter and 750-milliliter glass bottles. While T?ST is known for its elegant glass packaging, the brand began testing canned formats in entertainment and sports arenas and quickly saw the potential. The lightweight, portable design offers versatility and convenience, opening up new opportunities—and customers are loving it. #PackagingDesign #ProductInnovation #RetailTrends #SmartPackaging #SustainablePackaging #MarketTrends

What is creative printing?? It is undoubtedly a subtle blend of letting your thoughts roam freely and a particular penchant for getting inside an artwork produced by someone else, an artist, designer, or photographer. Master screen printer Lorenz Boegli takes this to the next level, pushing the limits of traditional printing by experimenting with color systems to open new possibilities in print technology. The lit world of RGB For years, the vibrant, glowing world of RGB colors has been out of reach for print. RGB—made up of red, green, and blue light—shines bright on digital screens but has never been easily replicated on paper in a single printing process. That’s because traditional print relies on CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black), which layers ink on a white surface to create color. Boegli, however, flipped the script—printing RGB directly on black paper and achieving brilliant whites using reflective pigments. This breakthrough brings a new level of luminosity to print, creating effects that were once only possible on a screen. Printing light itself His alchemistic screen print "Iris" (2024) showcases Boegli's playful inversion of CMYK printing, using iridescent mica pigments to capture “printed light”, no less. The right-hand edge of the piece even includes color control strips showing it was printed with red, green, blue, and white inks, mirroring the way human vision processes color. Boegli’s innovative approach challenges everything we thought we knew about print, proving that ink on paper can be just as luminous and dynamic as pixels on a screen.
