Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program

We Bridge the Gap That’s what differentiates our program from others offered in high school. Using a multi-phased process, we connect students with advanced manufacturers through Matching Day Events, interviews, job shadowing and paid co-ops. Launched in the fall of 2019 by the Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association (RTMA) and Monroe Community College (MCC), we have already partnered with Career & Technology Education (CTE) programs like BOCES and WEMOCO, Edison Career & Technology High School, and 21+ local employers to match more than 50 high school students with job shadows and paid co-ops. In 2020-2021, the program plans to expand to the Genesee Valley Career Tech Center in Batavia and the GLOW region, along with Wayne County Career Tech Center in Wayne and Ontario counties. Our program will also be expanding in the Monroe County area, and will be including home-schooled students in our expansion efforts.
