North Carolina is in a state of emergency, and numerous areas are still without power following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. Roads have been closed because of downed trees, and the record flooding has caused landslides and damage to roadways. NCDOT has requested assistance from the I-26 Fluor-United Asheville team, and they have responded. Crews have been working to help clear roadways and provide temporary repairs to the roadways to allow utility crews to access the areas and provide access for residents. Our thoughts and well wishes go out to the Fluor-United Asheville workers, their families, residents of western North Carolina and all of those affected by Helene. We are proud to be able to support NCDOT in their recovery efforts. #BuildingABetterWorld

Mark Fields, Group President, Project Execution, closed the Fluor Supply Chain Summit, thanking the participants, recognizing this year’s beneficiaries, and emphasizing the value of collaboration as we navigate changes to the supply chain landscape. As Mark shared, supplier diversity is a key component of building a better supply chain. Fluor surpassed its target of 25 percent of U.S. supplier commitments with diverse suppliers and contractors by the end of 2023, reaching 33 percent. Fluor is proud to partner with this year’s beneficiaries as they provide education, certification and development opportunities for small, diverse and minority business enterprises. While there have been global supply chain challenges, Fluor believes the future is bright. Today, Fluor pledged $650,000 to enhance capital project supply chain capabilities, including sustainable sourcing, supply chain AI application development, building business capacity, granting academic scholarships, and identifying business opportunities with capable and qualified minority business enterprises (MBEs).
