?? Milestone Achieved - Fluently analyzed more than 15 000 users' calls in English Probably half of them are mine ???(It is a joke) What insights I gained from reviewing the top mistakes stats of non-native users speaking English in their meetings: ?? Track your filler words. 3 months ago almost 10 percent of my speech were words “like” and “okay”. It’s hard to catch during your call because you don’t focus on your speech. But excessive use of filler words significantly damages your clarity. ?? Speaking too fast is not good too. The optimal pace is around 130 words per minute. Rather than rushing through your speech, aim to be more expressive. Especially if you have an accent, like I do. ?? Add more synonyms. In my native language, I can express thoughts and be persuasive because it’s easier to find the right words. However, in English, non-native speakers often resort to simple adjectives like “good,” “bad,” and “great.” Make an effort to learn and use synonyms to enrich your vocabulary and make your speech more engaging. I’m glad that at Fluently, we help people track these and other common mistakes, enabling them to improve their speaking skills effortlessly. Personally, I’ve noticed a big improvement in my communication skills in English over the past year. I can’t wait for thousands of our users to feel the same way! Keep on rockin' ??
