An FCMC employee was in the right place at the right time one evening a few days ago. Tom Platte, radiologic technologist, jumped into action to assist a visitor who was actively choking. He performed the Heimlich Maneuver until the visitor was able to breathe again, and stayed until team members from the emergency department arrived to take over. “FCMC is incredibly proud of Tom and his heroic actions that helped save a visitor’s life,” said Dawnett Willis, MBA, chief executive officer at FCMC. “Tom exemplifies our mission and values every day, but he especially did so on this occasion. FCMC encourages everyone to be like Tom and know how to perform the Heimlich Maneuver, as you never know when you may have to intervene to save someone’s life.” Read about Tom's story and how to perform the life-saving Heimlich Maneuver here: https://lnkd.in/gX_8qwsR
