?? A Special Visit from Governor Whitmer! ?? We were beyond excited to welcome Governor Gretchen Whitmer to our Millburg campus on Monday! She didn’t just stop by—she jumped right in, helping with meal prep, clean-up, outdoor time, and more. She spent time with our little learners, engaged with teachers, and took a deep dive into the wrap-around services we provide to support children and families. Her visit highlighted the importance of early childhood education and comprehensive family support—key foundations for strong communities and brighter futures. Seeing a leader take the time to listen, learn, and actively participate in our day-to-day work was truly inspiring! Now More Than Ever, Head Start Needs Your Support! Last week, we faced an unimaginable challenge. A sudden federal funding freeze left us without the resources to continue operating. While it was later concluded that Head Start was not part of the federal freeze, it still affected the federal dollars that we rely on. With heavy hearts, we had to temporarily close our doors, unsure of what the future would hold for the children and families who rely on us. The uncertainty was overwhelming, but our commitment to our community never wavered. Thankfully, we were able to reopen, but many Head Start programs across the country weren’t as fortunate. Due to funding not appearing in their systems, some programs remain closed, leaving families without critical early learning and support services. This crisis highlights the fragility of early childhood education funding and the devastating impact on children, families, and educators. This situation is a stark reminder of why we must take action. To ensure our doors remain open—no matter what—we must rally together and fundraise for our children's future. We cannot let uncertainty dictate the quality of care and education our little ones receive. Every dollar makes a difference.
