Zinathi Gquma thank you for having me on your BusinessDay TV show, and great question on how we (Flow48) measure impact. On average, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) contribute 60–70% of total employment in developing markets. Therefore, the SME Funding Gap in SA, which is estimated at ZAR 550 Billion, has a direct relationship with unemployment. Stated Differently: The Total Assessable Market (TAM) associated with the SME Funding Gap in SA of ZAR 550 Billion, which is a reflection of a demand-supply mismatch, if meaningfully addressed to fuel SME growth will reduce unemployment. Following our entry into South Africa in 2024 our Series A close increases the capital we have available to expand operations in SA and UAE. In addition, we we will accelerate our market entry into KSA. We've made tremendous progress in establishing foundational ecosystem partnerships across SA and UAE, which partnerships we aim to embed and broaden. We will replicate this strategy in KSA, with the understanding that these partnerships were instrumental to the growth that supports our Series A close, in a subdued capital raising environment, and will be key to our growth going forward. Private Debt has rapidly grown into a USD 2 Trillion asset class, with plenty of room to grow. As banks retrench from traditional lending, Private Debt offers more flexible, scalable solutions for these companies. Institutional allocation to this asset class has translated to it being one of the fastest-growing segments in finance, outpacing many traditional alternatives. Despite being a small portion of the overall landscape, Private Debt solutions continue to perform well, outperforming traditional bank and public options.
