Sometimes the unexpected happens and you experience a shutdown in the middle of a cut cycle. Whether you lose power, have unplanned maintenance, or simply need to pause and step away. Regardless of the reason, we want to ensure you’re prepared to resume your project. The first step is to identify the cause. Depending on the situation, you may need to lock out and tag out the machine for safety. Before resuming cutting, we recommend that you check your abrasive line, and clear any residual abrasive to prevent clogs in the abrasive line to prevent any issues with parts. Select “Cut from a Point” under the “Cutting” dropdown and choose your starting point to resume.

What is the weight of the force a waterjet has on the material it’s cutting? ? A waterjet stream puts roughly 15 to 40 lbs (6.8 to 18 kg) of force on the material while piercing, with if often being right around 30 lbs for most machines. ? During cutting, the vertical force is usually under one pound. ? Though the amount of force can vary based on specific systems and applications. ? Gentle enough to cut foam. FAQ Friday: What is “dead heading”? Dead heading is when you have full pressure in an intensifier pump system while the cutting head is closed. It’s a ?method used to check for leaks within the system. If the intensifier shifts while in full pressure with the cutting head closed, there is a leak present in the system.
