Austin is buzzing as Flour Bluff ISD has been at the capital this week! Superintendent Chris Steinbruck, Primary Principal Jessica Gutierrez, and Board President Shirley Thornton have had a wonderful time sharing all about the great things that are happening at Flour Bluff ISD!

Flour Bluff ISD has award winning staff! ?? Jeanine Hoover, Assistant Principal of Flour Bluff Elementary, has been named the 2025 Region 2 AP of the Year by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA)! The peer-based award celebrates assistant principals from the 20 TEPSA Regions across the state who demonstrate exceptional leadership in fostering a culture of excellence for students and teachers on their PK-8 campus. “Jeanine has played a pivotal role in creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment in their school community. We are proud to recognize Jeanine’s leadership and dedication to ensuring students are engaged, and achieve success throughout their education,” said TEPSA Executive Director Harley Eckhart. One TEPSA Region AP of the Year will be selected as the 2025 NAESP National Assistant Principal of the Year for Texas. Supported by Horace Mann, the national award recognizes leaders who are committed to excellence through programs designed to meet the academic and social needs of all students; have firmly established community ties with parents and local business organizations; show strong educational leadership by setting high expectations for school staff and students; and exhibit exceptional leadership in a particular school program. Yesterday was a powerful day for our community, as Superintendent Chris Steinbruck stood united with our educators and district! In a great show of collaboration, Superintendent Steinbruck and Deputy Superintendent Linda Medley visited Rockport-Fulton ISD for the first 89th Legislative Priority Meeting, joined by State Representatives Todd Hunter and Denise Villalobos, along with Coastal Bend Superintendents. This gathering was more than just a meeting—it was a heartfelt commitment to advocate for the success of our students, schools, and communities. Together, we are forging a brighter future for education in Texas, and FBISD is proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with our fellow districts in this vital mission! Later that evening, Superintendent Steinbruck took the stage at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi for the College of Education and Human Development’s Educator Induction Ceremony. As the keynote speaker, he welcomed the new inductees into the noble teaching profession with an inspiring message. He emphasized the importance of cultivating relationships with their future students and colleagues, encouraging them to lean on their teams during challenging times, and reminding them of the profound impact they will have on the world. Congratulations to all the recent graduates! As you embark on this incredible journey, remember that the best is yet to come!

Flour Bluff Volleyball has won the state title match over McKinney North today! Our Hornets won the first team state title in school history! SMU commit Maggie Croft is the MVP! Flour Bluff ISD is the place to be! Way to go Lady Hornets!

Today, ESC 2 welcomed Flour Bluff ISD Principals as they were Honored for being Purple Star Campuses along with our NJROTC! 38 Purple Star Campuses across Region 2, with 27 new campuses were awarded! Special shoutout to Beeville ISD, Flour Bluff ISD, Kingsville ISD, Ricardo ISD, and Riviera Independent School District for achieving 100% Purple Star designations! Flour Bluff ISD thanks our Principals, military counselors, and military liaison, Joe Holder for their continued support for our military connected families. Also, we thank our Flour Bluff NJROTC Instructors and staff for all that they do to instill Class, Pride, and Heart everyday in our Hornets. #ESC2Excellence #MilitaryConnected

Flour Bluff ISD is glad to be a polling location for Election Day! Superintendent Chris Steinbruck and some of our incredible Hornets have a message for our community today, and that is to get out and vote! You can vote here in Flour Bluff at the Flour Bluff ISD-Janet F. Harte Public Library located right next to the high school. You will see voting signs, and there will be available parking until 7:00 pm.

In honor of Custodian Appreciation Day, our wonderful custodians were treated to a lunch and were celebrated for all of their hard work and dedication to Flour Bluff ISD!
