Florida For Good is a network of socially minded entrepreneurs and organizations contributing to the greater good in whatever ways we can and choose. Some create high quality jobs, some foster healthier environments, some build stronger communities, and some tackle societal issues. We buy from responsible companies and do business with those that show shared-value mentality. Florida For Good is intended to help good businesses find each other, help spotlight each other’s good efforts, and facilitate further business involvement in community problem-solving and improvement projects. Florida For Good requires no certification (though certifications are recognized). A collective of businesses making a simple declaration that our companies make decisions considering more than just profits, joining and being listed in the directory requires only a short survey about your company and impact endeavors. Inspired by the global B Corp movement, Florida For Good is for any business contributing to greater good - because with society’s infinite challenges and goals, it’s imperative for businesses to take on some responsibility, and lead endeavors where we can.

Every movement deserves scrutiny, but the best questions come from those who take the time to become informed. B Lab UK, one of 14 B Labs in the Global Network, just released its strategy document. It is worth reading for anyone who wants to better understand the B Corp movement. If you do, it will be difficult to doubt the legitimacy of this work. In fact, you may wonder why this strategy is not the norm across all businesses, governments, and societies. Phrases like?"it is about people,"?"our strategy is about humanity,"?"human-focused on connection, compassion, and wellbeing,"?and?"prioritizing whole life balance"?reflect a vision that transcends political divides and unites people across cultures. We’re pleased to share an important milestone — the launch of a new long-term strategy for B Lab UK. From the launch of B Lab in 2006, we have worked to harness the power of business as a force for good. B Lab UK’s strategy is rooted in the Global Theory of Change, aiming to redefine the role of business within our economic system so that every business is a force for good. Our new strategy builds on the success of the B Corp movement over the past 10 years, with one overarching goal that meets the imperative of these challenging times: ?? Within 10 years, we want all UK businesses to act as a force for good by default, operating for the benefit of all their stakeholders. To achieve this goal, we will model a better economic system in action and drive change towards the system at scale, working alongside other system actors to build a collective case for: ?? The need to ensure all UK businesses are inclusive environments?with workers paid fairly and evolved in decision-making (good work) ?? The need for all UK businesses to be run for the benefit of all (stakeholder governance). ?? The need for UK businesses to address the climate emergency and degradation of the natural world to create a just and sustainable economy and stable social and natural environment?(climate & nature). It has been a collaborative effort to get to this point and will continue to be a collaborative effort to achieve our goal.
