Last week, FLVS 4th and 5th graders had an unforgettable experience at the FLVS Foundation & National Center For Simulation (NCS) STARBASE STEM Camp! From hands-on experiments to exciting STEM challenges, students had a blast exploring the world of science and technology in the STARBASE lab. ??? Last Friday, we had an amazing time at Art Daze! Hosted at the FLVS office and supported by the FLVS Foundation, about 30 talented students and their families came together to create vibrant Mardi Gras masks and showcase their artistic skills. A huge thank you to our incredible crew leaders—Mrs. Elliot, Mrs. Thunberg, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Rincon—for making this event such a success! Kicking Off the First MS&T Teacher Training Session! On January 29th, we launched our first Modeling, Simulation, and Training (MS&T) teacher session, and it was a huge success! Thanks to our partnership with the National Center for Simulation (NCS) and STARBASE, we are honored to have Lindsey Spalding, Director of STARBASE, leading these insightful one-hour monthly sessions. A huge thank you to the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations for their matching funds, making this opportunity possible! This month, teachers explored: ?? Introduction to MS&T ?? Why simulation is critical in education ?? How FLVS educators already use simulation ?? Ways FLVS educators want to incorporate simulation We’re excited for the upcoming sessions and can’t wait to see how our educators bring simulation to life in their classrooms!
