Florida voters decided on six amendments to our state constitution on November 5. While two amendments easily passed, four did not meet the 60% approval threshold. Why? Because in 2006, Florida TaxWatch and others raised the standard, making constitutional changes appropriately difficult to pass. We believe a constitution should be a strong, foundational guide—not an avenue for easily swaying, special-interest legislation. That’s why we continue to advocate for raising the threshold even higher.

With Florida’s 67% response rate in the 2020 Census leading to underrepresentation, Meg underscores the need for strategic coordination to ensure a complete count. Florida TaxWatch’s Census Institute continues to research and advocate for solutions to these challenges.
