Exciting news! Dr. N. David Pifer has received a $97,121 National Science Foundation grant to study "unrealistic optimism" in minor league baseball players and college applicants. His project will use machine -learning predictions to see if high optimism about career success helps or hinders long-term outcomes. Congratulations Dr.Pifer! #FSUSPM #nolesknowsports

Braly Keller joined our Florida State Sport Management master’s Collegiate Athletics class and rocked the house with some terrific insight. Our students have enjoyed reading NIL Blitz and analyzing NIL data this semester, so getting to pick the brain of Opendorse’s (the leading athlete marketplace and technology company) Director of NIL & Business Insights was an incredible experience. Thank you for the time you spent sharing your knowledge with us to help prepare our students for a career in Collegiate Athletics.

Happy to announce that I am graduating Florida State University Magna Cum Laude with my BS in Sport Management this Fall! Being a part of Florida State Sport Management has been a truly rewarding and meaningful experience. Thank you Kristopher White, Ph.D. and Courtney Beck for your never ending support and guidance. I am beyond grateful to be surrounded by passionate peers and influential faculty who share a love of the sport industry. Words cannot begin to describe how highly I appreciate this program and the experiences that have come along with it. Graduating alongside some of my best friends, Summer Slater and Anna Gromadzka is a surreal feeling. I am so proud of both of you and your accomplishments. It is crazy to think we went from living in Landis to now graduating a semester early together! With that, I am thankful to end my Senior year while watching my brother, Spencer Karlinsky follow in my footsteps as a Freshman at FSU. Special thank you to Isabella Sangrador for coming from Gainesville to take these beautiful pictures!

Congratulations to Professor Giardina on being inducted as a Fellow in the National Academy of Kinesiology’s Class of 2024! This prestigious honor, awarded during the 93rd Annual Meeting, recognizes Professor Giardina’s distinguished contributions to kinesiology through scholarship and service. The National Academy of Kinesiology is an honorary organization composed of leading scholars who have made a lasting impact on the study and application of human movement and physical activity. We’re incredibly proud to have such an esteemed colleague in our department and look forward to seeing the continued influence of his work in the field!

Over this past weekend, I had the privilege of attending the Florida State Sport Management Conference. This was a tremendous experience and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to connect with inspiring industry professionals and passionate peers. The sessions were insightful, and the chance to gain knowledge directly from experts was invaluable. I would like to thank Jason Pappas and M. Katie Flanagan for their effort to make this conference a success. It truly showcased the strength and depth of the sport management community at Florida State. #FSUSportManagement I would also like to thank the individuals who spoke to us from the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium, IMG Academy, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Armada FC, Tallahassee State College, Visit Tallahassee, Pensacola Blue Wahoos and the other organizations that I had the chance to speak to.
