We are proud to continue our partnership with the DREAM Foundation, now in our third season working together, to support the next generation of sports business leaders. The DREAM Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing career opportunities for underserved students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), plays a vital role in creating pathways for students aspiring to work in the sports industry. This morning, we had the pleasure of welcoming two DREAM students, Lee and Shawna, who had the unique opportunity to join Florida Citrus Sports CEO, Steve Hogan, for an interview with FOX 35 Orlando, WOFL-TV. During the session, they gained invaluable behind-the-scenes experience (and a little taste of being in front of the camera)—skills that will help them build their careers in the sports industry. The DREAM Foundation mentorship program is a critical initiative that bridges the gap for students who may face challenges accessing career opportunities due to location and resources. We are grateful to be part of this effort, offering real-world experience and networking opportunities through events like the Florida Blue Florida Classic. Together, we are creating opportunities, fostering growth, and paving the way for future leaders in sports business. #DREAMFoundation #HBCU #FutureLeaders

Today, our Corporate Partnerships Coordinator, Ethan Klohr, had the esteemed privilege of participating in a panel at the Executive High School Conference organized by Central Florida Hospitality Career Academies. This conference was attended by 100 exceptional students from Osceola, Orange, and Seminole counties who are studying hospitality. The panel session focused predominantly on providing insight into diverse aspects of the hospitality industry, offering career advice, and inciting ambition among our sector's impending leaders. It is with great pleasure that we express our pride in Ethan for representing Florida Citrus Sports and thereby contributing to shaping the prospective course of the hospitality industry, specifically within the spheres of sports and entertainment.

Last week we hosted one of our most popular annual events — Feast on the 50 presented by SouthState Bank — at Camping World Stadium. Thank you to all the food and beverage vendors, local alumni chapters and local partners who participated this year. Additionally, thank you to everyone who donated and bid on items for our silent auction and raffle, which benefits K-8 educational efforts in The Communities of the West Lakes. We are thrilled to share that we reached our goal and raised more than $50,000 at this year’s event. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate college football; we can’t wait to do it again next fall!

Soon after our Monday morning announcement to reschedule Feast on the 50, the projected impact of Hurricane Milton grew significantly. Camping World Stadium has been deployed as an aid distribution site for Orange County and a Hurricane Warning is now in effect for our region. We want to allow more time for our venue — and our community — to deal with the storm. Therefore, we have postponed Feast on the 50 further. The event will now take place on Wednesday, October 23. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion caused by the additional change. We hope you will still be able to join us in two weeks. All existing tickets will still be honored on the new date.

Had a great time hearing from some talented and hard working women in sports including our own Events Coordinator Tara Staley at Thursday’s Women in Sports Events Seminar. The panel provided valuable insight for industry veterans and those looking to embark in a career in sports events alike.
We appreciate everyone who joined us for our Women in Sports Events Seminar. We had a wonderful turnout with amazing panelists Tara Staley, Logyn Mercuri, Annie Kosky, and Caroline Brinson! A lot of valuable information was shared, and there was so much was learned about the industry! We hope everyone got something out of it, and we can't wait to see everybody for our next meeting in a few weeks!
