🔬 What exactly is genomics? At its core, genomics is the study of all an organism’s genes—their structure, function, and interactions. But it's more than just a scientific field; it’s an evolving tool for commercial innovation, offering valuable insights across industries. 🌱 From Labs to Market: While academic research has driven much of genomics’ progress, today’s commercial applications are transforming fields like agriculture, biomedicine, and biotechnology. Imagine precise crop selection for increased resilience, or developing personalized treatments that target specific genes—these are just a few examples of genomics in action. 💼 Why does this matter for business? For companies looking to innovate, genomics offers a way to understand and leverage biological data at a granular level. This means targeted solutions, efficient R&D processes, and staying competitive in fields where precision matters most. Stay tuned as we share more about how Floragenex brings genomics from the research lab to the commercial landscape. 🧬
We’re thrilled to expand our service capabilities through a new collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific! Did you know that #DNADay, April 25th, marks the completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003 and the discovery of DNA's double helix structure in 1953? These monumental milestones revolutionized the way we understand and study genetics, opening up a world of possibilities for scientific inquiry and discovery. #NationalDNADay is a global movement to mobilize, energize and empower communities, educators and students by celebrating the promise of our shared humanity and connection to the natural world. At Floragenex, we are passionate about harnessing the power of #genomics to drive meaningful and impactful research. Through our genomic sequencing services, we empower researchers and scientists to dig deeper into the secrets of #DNA and unlock new insights. Whether it's unravelling the genetic diversity of plant and animal species, investigating disease mechanisms, or improving crop traits, our advanced sequencing technologies and expert analysis help researchers make breakthrough discoveries. For more information or resources about National DNA Day, visit the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) website: https://lnkd.in/dzxVjnw.
Happy #EarthDay! 🌎 We like to say that every day is Earth Day. In fact, why stop at just one day? We'll be celebrating all week! Happy Earth Day! NHGRI researchers are continuing to sequence complete genomes from all kinds of species, such as hummingbirds, yellowfin tuna and great white sharks to lesser known animals like tire track eels and blunt-snouted clingfish. With complete genomes from many different animals, researchers can study evolution across millions of years! Learning more about a species' genomes and genetic diversity can help us understand its history, like estimating the species' current and historic population sizes. This information can provide insights for conservation and other efforts to save endangered species! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eY-kKF88
