FLO Materials has been awarded the National Science Foundation (NSF) Phase I STTR grant! Federal funding is so important for proving viability and closing the gap between innovation and commercialization. This funding will support us in expanding our recyclable ECAN platform to meet the diverse needs of customers and applications, optimizing for manufacturability and advancing recyclable plastics towards commercial readiness! A big thank you to the NSF and our support network. https://lnkd.in/eApsRz4t

I'm excited to announce that we’ve relocated our headquarters to Santa Barbara to join the CNSI Technology Incubator! Every founder knows that change is the only constant, and I’m thrilled the opportunity to?come down here presented itself in the midst of an unpredictable year. It’s a new chapter for FLO Materials; we are here for it, and we are not looking back.??? Santa Barbara is a hidden gem for materials research. Nestled within the UCSB campus, CNSI offers dedicated lab spaces, a vibrant startup community, access to world-class R&D and characterization facilities at the Materials Research Laboratory (MRL), and an NSF-sponsored user facility dedicated to sustainable polymer discovery at the BioPACIFIC MIP.?FLO will be working on platform commercialization and translational research with support and guidance from MRL, CNSI, and collaboration opportunities with @BioPacific MIP for high-throughput screening and scalable production of our ECAN platform, positioning us to expand our work in recyclable plastics. We’ve received a warm welcome from the Santa Barbara community and?we?are eager to bridge the?Bay?Area network with this thriving hub. It's been so motivating to be surrounded by inspiring founders the past few years, including Aaron Hall,?Noemi Bonessio, PhD, PE, Katherine French,?Michelle Ruiz,?Maria Carolina Fujihara,?and many many more. Now,?we are excited to connect with the founder and research community at Santa?Barbara, including?Activate fellows Florian Herrault and Hector Andrade and many others. We’re also actively hiring and look forward to tap into Santa Barbara’s incredible talent pool. More to come! #UCSB #CNSI #SustainablePolymers #Recyclable #Plastics #BioPacificMIP #MRL #Hiring #Activate
